I don't think he'd be a good manager when he's not managing the most talented side in the world. And I value winning leagues more as a measure of a manager because it requires a level of consistent excellence that a cup competition doesn't. I'll take Pep and Sir Alex over Jose and Zidane any day.
Football is an extremely unfair sport. I get that it still requires ability to manage top sides but I just don't know who I actually rate because of it.Could say that about any of the top managers though. I dread to think how Pep would cope with some of our yarddogs trying to play football. Most of the top managers would be unsuited to managing at lower levels. Doesn’t make them bad managers. Someone’s teams probably wouldn’t even score a goal without the world class strikers he’s always had at Atletico.
Zidane also won 2 leagues in 4 seasons if I remember?
That's nuts. I can imagine a few weeks back Southampton were looking at their plight and thinking we still have a chance because Leeds have Marsch and he will take them down. Roll forward a few weeks and they take Marsch on as manager.Wow, that's a huge risk imo.

How more so than us appointing Dyche? When Dyche was sacked from Burnley they were in the relegation zone 4 points behind us with 8 games remaining. He's now here, and many people think it's a brilliant appointment.Wow, that's a huge risk imo.
Dyche at least had a sustained period of relative success before the fairly inevitable drop-off. Marsch probably had about 8 decent games and was crap the rest of the time. How more so than us appointing Dyche? Your insistence on seeing a positive in his appointment is admirable.Dyche at least had a sustained period of relative success before the fairly inevitable drop-off. Marsch probably had about 8 decent games and was crap the rest of the time.
Yeah but dont forget Moyes also took Sunderland down once, sometimes its just the club, not the manager, the time comes for them to goHow more so than us appointing Dyche? Yes, so as could be the case with JM and Leeds. Anyone who thinks there is greater jeopardy in Southampton appointing Marsch than in Everton bringing in Dyche is delusional. Both appointments are desperate rolls of the dice loaded with massive risk.Yeah but dont forget Moyes also took Sunderland down once, sometimes its just the club, not the manager, the time comes for them to go
The are, but it was giong to be like that whoever we got, Frank was a bigger risk last season, and that worked out.Yes, so as could be the case with JM and Leeds.
