Safari 4 is my browser of choice, as it's pretty cutting edge in terms of features, but still in beta.

This site doesn't work so well with it, and many of the buttons for some reason don't work. Which may well be down to the forum software.

Just given you a heads up for when all the other browsers catch up.

IE and Firefox gazump Safari in terms of numbers, theres a reason for that, which in my opinion, is that Safari, is poo.

Which is one reason 0.3% of the hundred of thousand of views this website has, are from people with Safari (y)

No I am a professional web designer. I'm very busy at the moment, shouldn't really be talking here, but I am waiting on some sign offs.

IE has massive market share because of Windows. Not because it's the better product. I know this for a fact, nothing to do with statistics.

Liverpool have more fans than Everton, are you saying they are a better product? It's about sheep and people doing what people say because err, they say. MySpace is another example of a ****e product becoming massively popular due to sheep following other sheep.

Now if your trying to wind me up, than fair enough. But please don't tell me I don't know what I am doing, I've been working in the industry for 12 years.

It's actually one of the fastest browsers out there. And now has a world class designer working on the interface, so it's going to look great too.

It's problem was that it initially was a paid for browser, if you wanted all the features you either paid for them, or like most people chose Firefox.

To those uneducated in the world of the internets.

Apple - Safari - 150 Features - Learn about the features available in the world?s fastest and most innovative web browser.

The Acid Test is very important. It's basically feature lists that 1. Meet W3C standards, 2. Enable designers/developers to produce code without having to hack their way around stuff, and putting more load time onto files, and basically having an unoptimised web environment - which causes slow connections.

Safari 4 has 100/100.

Firefox has 71/100

Are you sure?

I could say I am one of them too, in fact, most teenagers today could. Every single person who obtained the compulsory GCSE in ICT had to design a website to obtain it. Thats the world we live in.

Of course Liverpool are a 'better' product.

It would be ignorant to discredit the general rule of thumb as the more optional users there are, the better it is. Ie, Firefox

To discredit the success of MySpace? Well.... hmmm.

Duration doesn't mean a thing. I've been "in the industry" for 10 years. By the time i'm your age, I would have been in the industry for 22 years. Doesn't mean [Poor language removed] all. In fact, the majority of them 12 years won't mean a thing really... will it?

Thanks for the advice though, but as a professional designer you should know there are tools to check browser compatibility? As all your websites are identical though in terms of using Symphony and slapping some paint on them so I dont suppose you would be too clued up with browser compatibility? (Not a dig, its an observation). Which is fair enough like, you don't have to occupy hundreds of thousands of page views a month so you shouldn't have to be, whereas I do. Keep with designing simple sites, headaches start coming when you have to maintain a successful one.

I don't have to prove anything to anyone, certainly not to someone who just runs a forum.

I have designed and developed well over 100 sites in the last 5 years. I get paid for what I do, hence I am professional. Notice that one of my clients is Amnesty International, can't imagine them employing an amateur.
