The dreadful hoofball has hardly done anything to reverse that viewpoint though, has it? Or are you a fan of our "style" of play?
I am a fan of winning most of all and as far as I am concerned 1-0 gets us as many points as 7-0.

I don't buy into the hysteria on here about Sam.He will do a job and he will keep us safe and very probably keep us as a seventh place team ... the best of the rest... but probably no where near those above us, similar or slightly better than this season in fact.

If we are going to appoint a new manager, then I want somebody who has the ability and proven track record in a proper league that can turn us into a club that can in something. I don't want a manager that is simply not Sam Allyrdyce.

To answer your question directly. If I felt that we could win every game under Sam in a boring 1-0 I would take that in a heartbeat.

Do you not want to be entertained after shelling out hundreds on a season ticket, a Sky/BT subscription or individual matchday tickets? Finishing 7th on 55 points beating Stoke, West Brom, Swansea and the like by the odd goal whilst regularly, crushingly being beaten by the top 6 doesn't do it for me. That's why I want Allardyce out, I would rather we try and fail than accept that we will never be as good as the clubs above us. I'll never accept that and I hope the club doesn't either. If we keep Sam on then that represents surrender to me.

Tosh mate.
You need to let it go. Only a clutch of players are remaining from his time here, a time where he had to throw 13m at Niasse because of a lack of financial resource.
Koeman ensured nothing remains of Martinez.
Tosh mate....you need to get out of the fantasy land of "72 points" and win F/A mentality ......he was appointed on the basis of a 3-0 win v us in the cup and the freak cup win.....which comes back to who the feck appointed him? Our board thats who..and who have carried on in the same vein since with Koeman and now Sam. Incompetence breeds mediocrity which is where we are now. if you had seen the 1970 side you would not be talking about a guy who is just a sidenote in our history....

Wait, so:

Because I don't think he's to blame for this current carnage, given we've spent 200m since he left, I have a 72 points fantasy win FA mentality...
Nope, that doesn't make sense mate.

Also, you don't know the win over us made any material difference- unless you'd like to furnish me with quotes from our decision makers? So that's pute speculation (fantasy) on your part.

The board generally have nothing to do with the issue of why @Saint Domingo is laying the blame at RM's feet rather than his successor who wasted said 200m.

And in relation to your last statement, it makes no sense. If people were only allowed to talk about the 1970s side then the forum would be a boring place.

You've had an utter mare here.

Mate in what way am I absolving Koeman of blame? He’s set us back decades and was a terrible manager for us who family didn’t care from the moment he joined. The logic of ‘Martinez was alright compared to Koeman and Allardyce’ is wrong though. They’re our very own unholy trinity. Three awful managers in a row.

Stopped using crayons about 65 years ago mate! In all seriousness your argument makes no sense, Allardyce did the job, nobody else wanted it, but he left a comfortable retirement to come to Everton and had the guts to do so. He has completed the first part of what he was expected to do, nobody knows what will happen at the end of the season but I would be ok with giving him till the end of his contract.
Do people just decide to comment one single post as opposed to reading the conversation ?

You can't say that with any degree of certainty. What's more clear is that Koeman and Unsworth didn't seem capable of doing it. It was dire, very dire and there was a great deal of concern. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Simply disagree but fair enough for me

Anybody walking into a 6m a year pay day, yea that took guts. Come on man.

Im sorry you were unable to grasp my point.

It was simple, whom ever was appointed would of “SAVED” us from relegation.

The lack draw lineups and hoofball is enough for me, I really can’t understand why anyone would want to see more.

It is what it is. My point is very clear. It’s a differing opinion nothing more.

It was a mess but what has changed? It’s still a mess.

Line em up play to win. Not draw for FFS.

Seventh place never has been and never will be “best of the rest”.

I'm really looking forward to what Sam can do with us next season. It's fair to say the signings of tosun and walcott are looking very astute. A big problem for him since arriving has been the full back positions and that's not been his fault at all. However with baines and Coleman back now we are looking much improved.
With this squad and about 4 or 5 big additions and positivity from the fan base rather than constant criticism of Sam, then I see us challenging the top 4.

A good signing for us could be Bertrand from Southampton if they go down. Then a new centre back, another quality striker to go up top with cenk and possibly another midfielder. I am feeling really positive about next season and I really feel that Sam can get us challenging. Coyb!

A question to the sam backers.

Have we improved from the west ham performance at home?

The way I saw that game we scored initially against run of play, then took control and went 2-0 up, west Ham started to come on strong got the penalty and Pickford saved it, Rooney scored the worldly to put the game to bed.

So my point that game is similar to the way it pans out when we win at home against the lower teams, we play ok for a bit but the other team come on to us and we scrape a win.

So my answer is NO WE HAVE NOT IMPROVED UNDER SAM

As others have said anyone could have been employed and done exactly the same job as him.

Actually I disagree with this. Very few managers could coach a team to go several games without any shots , on target or off. As far as mediocrity goes that takes some beating.

didnt we have two on the bounce under moyes and there was a fair bit of anger then? bar martinez we keep getting managers who try and fool everyone that were far worse than we actually are. how allardyce thinks saving us from relegation is job done when we were 9th when he came is is crazy
