to a degree I agree a little, both ultimately weren't good enough but at the time od appointment Martinez wasn't a bad shout, just won a cup, was a young attack minded manager and his first season was superb, his biggest flaw is he just didn't learn from his obvious mistakes

I feel If could balance attack vs defence he could manage anyone he wanted to

fat sam on the other hand- spent his whole career keeping dog teams in the prem, playing dog football, playing dog players, he is a dog and he is probably the last person I would have ever given the job to ( he's along the lines of a pulis pardew and hughes )

He’d battled relegation every season with Wigan then took them down. Even the likes of Bruce and Jewell had shown grater progression in the league than Martinez ever did. The trophy winnhas rescued his legacy but why did Everton ever think it was suitable to appoint anyone with Martinez’s premier league record?

Was Bill sat there before the cup final thinking ‘if he wins it he can have the job, if not he can’t’? Surely we didn’t just make the decision on one game? We should never have given the job to a person with the league record he had.

Are you happy with mediocre then, because that is what you will get with Sam in charge.

Beat the dross in the premier then lose against anyone top 6 and above.

It doesn't get any better than that with Sam trust me
Blueboy has explained why Sam may be here next season and I think there is a good chance that he may be right.

I would like a new manager but not any new manager. You made the point about accepting mediocrity and that is well made. But, there is no point in sacking and replacing Sam with more of the same.

I want a manager that has had success in major league. I don't really want Silva and I think Fonseca is just too big a risk.

We have to decide where we stand as a club because there is no point talking about NSNO if our actions don't match our slogan.

I would like Emery and would sack the manager, the board, the staff and close down GOT to get him.

Agree mate, the way some are going on you would think that before Allardyce came to us he was some sort of attack minded, free flowing football ,tactical genius of a manager, and should be given the chance of a pre-season, and money to spend to see what he can do with us.

Now here’s the thing, we know what type of manager Allardyce is, and apart from his time at Bolton his footy has always been the same, And after years of playing the same way he is hardly going to change. Also, we weren’t the only one’s who realised this,West Ham, and Newcastle fans wanted him out, and now the majority of Everton fans want him gone, 3 sets of fans can’t be wrong (well, only in the eyes of those defending him they’ll be wrong like)
To be fair Everton fans wanted him gone ever before he arrived so that isn't down to the football played since his arrival.

It's a funny one and it will sound stupid but my point is jewell bruce fat sam etc, you know what you;ll get, organised teams hard to beat and probably stay up, you give them managers bigger jobs with better players and they wont change their style and ultimately fans at bigger clubs wont accept that

Martinez on the other hand played attacking expansive football with a team perhaps it would have been better not to, but give him a bigger team and better players and you will see what he's trying to do ( case and point the first season, some of the Europa games in the second season, the cup runs in the 3rd season )

I’ll wager he’ll flop with probably the best international squad in the summer. He’s a huge reason why we are in the mess we’re in. Decent first season but an awful manager.

Tosh mate.
You need to let it go. Only a clutch of players are remaining from his time here, a time where he had to throw 13m at Niasse because of a lack of financial resource.
Koeman ensured nothing remains of Martinez.

Cannot be arsed watching the crap defensive hoofball that he's guaranteed to serve up these next two weeks.

I just hope it's bad enough that he's sacked before he gets to do his post match interview after the Derby.

Every day he remains here is a day too long.

I don't have it in me to watch a whole season of his footy.

This makes no sense, we were playing dog football with dog players before he came, for that reason we needed Sam, as you say yourself he has spent a career keeping those teams in the prem, which was a fear, the best man for the job is surly someone experienced at keeping the type of side we were in the prem ?

Quite a silly response your arguing to argue ha

Yes the fact is Sam is our manger at the time we have become safe ie his job is done. The point I was making was it’s not special. FFS anyone could of done it. It was never as dire as feared. But hey do what you will.

I’m not gonna thank him for classing this place down to best case draw lineups.

Tough times here we know but if you want to thank him be my guest. He is a bum and a gutless bum at that. Get your crayons out and send him a thank you note.

You can't say that with any degree of certainty. What's more clear is that Koeman and Unsworth didn't seem capable of doing it. It was dire, very dire and there was a great deal of concern. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Koeman ensured nothing remains of Martinez.

He started the slippery slope. He decimated Moyes’ top 6 squad to pursue a dads and lads approach. We ended up with a squad of 4 top prospects and the rest either unproven kids or old men. All Koeman did was replace the 4 stars with poor signings leading us to a terribly unbalanced squad short on any real quality. I loved watching Barkley Del and Lukaku tearing at the opposition on the counter too but was it worth it when we went from a good strong squad to the likes of Alcaraz Mcgeady, Etoo, Atsu, Kone, Cleverley, Robles playing the supporting cast?

The fact that 3/4 of the back 4 are still Moyes players yet our first choice line up doesn’t contain a single Martinez signing shows exactly how poor the squad management was under him and then taken to new levels by Koeman.
