Glad we did. Said at the time, he will prove some folk wrong relating to the popular opinion about him. He knows what he is doing, instead of being wedded to some idealistic nonsense.

For the first time in ages, that side looked drilled, organised, and together.
Organised and drilled.
Is right.
a few more corners and practiced set pieces would have been nice.

Suppose we wait until the cup tie for them.

While I was panicking in the last 10 minutes, and it looked like some of the players were, even Klopp was. Allardyce seemed very calm. That was very impressive. He looked quite confident that the side he'd drilled could stop them creating a clear chance.
I was surprisingly calm. There just seemed something different about us today.

Fair to say though that 'idealistic' managers have gone there and come away with a dour point.

He did well today, and I think he's got right under their skin straight away a la Big Joe in the 90s. But we'll have to tweak that strategy for the cup game.

Hopefully a striker is ready to just sign, get a medical and come in and hit the ground running by January 6th or whenever the cup game is.

Very much parallels there with Royle.
I remember him laughing at Roy Evans 'toys out the pram' when we went there and grabbed draws. Royle was unbeaten, let's hope Sam has similar success against those bells.

Sam on Sky Sports...."there is no such thing as a soft penalty.....it is either a penalty or it isn't.and he was pushed" lol

Whilst Klopp is behaving like a spoiled child :pint2:

I LOVE BIG SAM......
Even better as they cut back and to between a distraught, animated Klopp , back finally to Sam and a final question “ You’re loving this aren’t you? “ ( the to and fro of the exchange) . Big Sam “ Yes”. I think I’m going to love him ..... maybe

Yep. Wasnt having a dig at anyone else, more saying that he seems competent and practical. If some new names come in/injured return, I am sure he will show another side to his character.

Put it this way, I do not expect he will set up and instruct the side at every away game like he did today.

Even if we got a new manager, Id still like to invite back Allardyce to take the derbies...he clearly just winds them up. It's pure Big Joe!
