There is a problem with this statement when looking at it from a pundit's point of view though. They don't watch us regularly so they will simply think back to the mess we were in around the time he came in, and see where we are now.

Since he has been here we have top 6 form.

The pundits don't see the boring football with limited shots on target because they hardly watch us. They also don't like the idea that anyone outside of their favourite 'Big 6' clubs can possibly want to push on and try and compete at the top. They have short memories too.

And a lot of them have been pundits with the slug in the past too and possibly will be in the near future if he gets the boot.

So they are never going to rip him or even tell the truth about his dire hoofball.

The assertion that Sam 'had us over a barrel' with an 18 month contract is a nonsense. No manager with the requisite experience would have come on a 6 month contract so its a moot point. We had allegedly approached MON with a similar arrangement and got laughed away.

How about one in retirement, who bills himself as Fireman Sam and was punted by England in disgrace after one game?

We added like 40 pages to this thread since the final whistle. Kinda wanted to gauge what the debate is really all about without having to read all of it.

Thanks.

No worries mate. Surprised I was allowed to pop it up. The boss doesnt like me mucking about with the buttons too much.

The issue for me is that we were 'safe' ages ago and he hasn't and will not change the side, the tempo, the plan. He has 1 default mode and that'll never change.

The last few wins we've been extremely lucky. When was the last time a PL team has on average like 1 shot on target and manages to win games.

There simply cannot be any point, or future in keeping him on.

That's just it. He had a real opportunity at the biggest club he will ever manage to change the narrative about himself but clearly has only one gear.

@Eggs has summed it up better than me a few times.
