Where do you think we will be with a new manager at the end of next season? Answer essentially where we are now. The idea that a new manager will better 7th or 8th after spending a few months finding out who are the crap players and who are worth keeping, is frankly optimistic. The advantage of a new manager as we all know is not a magic wand with instant success, but a slog through 2 or 3 years to put us where we hope to be. I go for parting with Sam this season with a handshake, but let's not pretend this will transform us next season. It will just be the start of a process beginning from square one, and will depend on who we get and how quickly he and his new staff adjust. The only obviously available name is Silva, but I doubt many want him anyway. Who wants a manager with a Hull and Watford pedigree?
