They are above is in the league. We have been rubbish away for a while, that won't change overnight. We messed up some away games yeah but we have made up for that lately.
If we had beaten Burnley and Watford we would have been above Burnley I’d memory serves me right.
Burnley were on a poor run of form st the time.
I agree our away form is poor and had been for a long time but if FSA had shown a set of sperm producing spheres it’s a game we could have won

It's nice to see (so far) that Moshiri has some common-sense and won't be sacking Allardyce, to replace him with crazy suggestions or a manager never in the Premier League before.

The majority of our fanbase seem to be over the top and slightly bizzare. A lot of the polls saying we prefer Silva as our manager??? A manager who has been relegated, and then got sacked because he couldn't control his players? Sounds just like the man we need to get us into the Championship...

Would prefer Big Sam be given another year. But if not, give somebody a chance like Dyche/Howe who have proven themselves in the Premier.

Don't care about attractive football.
That really is the total opposite to what I think or want. I don't agree with a single word of it.

It just shows how split the fan base are on this.

There are 11 other players trying to stop us winning though! It happens.

And this ^^^^^^ , if serious and not a crimson-hued WUMming mission, is why we will never win anything. The safety first attitude of a large number of our fans really does hold us back. Not demanding success, not wanting to even be entertained. What is the point of going to the footie if you don't want to enjoy what's on show let alone competing for trophies. "Attacking football? No thanks, I'd rather play for the 0-0 and maybe sneak a 1-0 in the 89th minute. £550 quid on the season ticket, worth every penny".

We might as well give up rather than slowly turn into Stoke.

Where did I mention Martinez lad ? For that matter where did I use the word 'entertained' ? although it's worth mentioning the idea of watching a game of football is to be vaguely 'entertained' isn't it?
I started watching Everton in the 60s and to witness our decline in stature and ambition during the intervening years has been heartbreaking. But I still hope to see us return to the top one day and I do not believe we will begin that journey under a man who plays such reductive football as Allardyce does. Winning games by scoring your one and only shot on goal may be efficient but, my god , it's tedious. It is also unlikely to prove successful. Yet this is the modus operandi of our incumbent manager. Look at his lengthy record , you will see he overwhelmingly produces draws, followed by losses with his win column containing the least amount. This is not coincidental it is the direct product of playing a style of football which isolates the striker and habitually packs 10 men behind the ball in the final third surrendering the middle of the park to the opposition, among other failings. It is the football equivalent of hiding behind a rock and hoping to escape, it's cowardly football.
You know what?, I didn't use the word entertained but in retrospect why shouldn't I ? When I and thousands like me scrape together money we can barely afford on STs and travelling across the country in all weathers to watch our team ,why is it so wrong to expect some entertainment? What's the point otherwise? ,because the irony is the most successful teams play some form of entertaining football, including every successful Everton side I have supported.
In addition to all that I find the public persona of Allardyce himself ugly , self absorbed and generally repulsive. He has throughout his career given the impression that supporters serve football when in fact football serves supporters. It is the presence of the fans that give football its value not vice versa.
I do not expect us to become Barca or Real overnight , next season or indeed ever but I'd like us to at least give the impression that it is the journey on which we are embarked, under Allardyce we are just doomed to walk in mid table circles whilst all the while our once glorious history recedes further into the distance and becomes less relevant.
In the end I am just asking for hope and this man gives me none whatsoever.
But there is always the beer.

As a fellow evertonian i totally respect your opinion but I do disagree on how far you think allardyce can take us. He has never had money to spend at a club like he has now and also his first two signings ain't bad either.

Big Sam for me is the answer 100% he is very much in the mould of mourinho and simeone, a pragmatist type manager and in my opinion he is every bit as good as them two. He just needs the chance to spend the kind of money they do so that he can showcase what he can do. The football will improve at a time when it can improve.

I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that next season If Sam stays we will fight near the top 5. If Sam doesn't stay I believe we will be similar to this season. Change is not always good and the signs from Sam at the moment are a team progressing so someone as astute as Moshiri will very unlikely see reason to change at this point.

I think you should read the post I replied to and then read my reply.
The OP said a manager with no PL experience could not get us top 6
I gave him 3 quick examples of managers without OL experience who have done exactly that
At no point in any of my posts did I say FSA could get us top 6

My apologies! I'm afraid that it's difficult - though not impossible - to trace threads backwards.

Looking forward to a new manager and more points and more football next season.

Mourinho won the CL with Porto, he didn't spend an awful lot of money doing that. Yes he's had those riches since but he got those jobs on the back of his successes at a club in a smaller league. You cannot compare Sam to Jose in any way shape or form. Apart from they both tend to make fools of themselves in front of the cameras.

lol

Well I guess mid table obscurity is fairly near top 5...

Top six! Top five! Top four! Yet we haven't beaten any team in the top 7.

Burnley will bear the extra burden of Thursday night games in Europe next season. And there is a question mark over the management at Arsenal.

Even so, I can't see any way that Allardyce will be challenging the top four next season.

Much more worrying, I can't see any way that Allardyce will even have the confidence to challenge the top four.
