Age profile is a major concern. As is his style of midfielder and striker.

He signs Big Sam players for his usual system. I can't knock his logic but I find it archaic and small time. There's no evolution. Just more of the same. Sign veteran physical players and get to 40 points.
Tosun,Walcott?

Everything in context though hes been at clubs with limited budgets and has had to pad out a squad, despite that and very recently he has signed some excellent unknown players. I was quite surprised reading through some of the players he has signed, especially those abroad who gone on to turn into top players or become key players for clubs and very low prices.

Luka Milivojevic for example who signed at Palace has been one of the best and most productive midfielders in the league this year, but there are numerous examples. Even what he has done here so far has massively improved the squad in terms of quality.

If he was so good how come there hasn't been a sniff of success in 25 years.

I base my opinions on evidence. The evidence is he has won zilch in one of the longest PL careers anyone has had. And at 3 of his teams jumped or was punted before his squad with his players crashed out the division. And his football goes without saying. It has never been good. Even worse he believes in percentages hoof ball. It's not fit for Everton. We don't throw games here and target our homes. I could go on but I will only get angry.

I'm still puzzled at how lacklustre his reply was to the future seasons prospects. For a manager who wanted a chance to show what he could do at a 'big' club and was once again recently comparing himself to Mourinho and Simeone, he seemed to display little hope for an improved position next season.
He seemed to intimate his priority was to maintain our position this season and see how player recruitment went for our future prospects.
Given his bombastic and bullish nature displayed fully elsewhere in the press conference, his reply seemed distinctly anomalous and curiously downbeat.

There are facts. 3 of them have gone down within 2 years. 2 of them to the third tier. Those are the facts. His signings largely the issue. Old players on mega wages. Clubs can't get rid and squad rots.
He spent less than 20 million to keep Sunderland up,buttons, one of whom we offered them a good profit to sign.Took Bolton best part of five years after he left to drop out of the Prem. And his signings for Palace have probably been the players that have helped keep them up this year.

Martinez won the FA Cup is he a good manager? Are Everton a low quality club becuase they haven't won a trophy touching on 25 years, by that logic.....

Lets not pretend a glass ceiling doesn't exist that if you arent in or at a champions league club the opportunity to win a trophy is very limited i dont think he has had that oppurtunity, additionally success is relative to the club you are at. As he is finiding out i think. lol

I also think his career everywhere bar but Bolton has been transient and short, hes only ever built at Bolton.

Just on his signing though, some very skilled transfers, surprisingly so.

Why do you think it's worthwhile to compare those no marks to us? Staying up is not even a thing at Everton. Unless you're about 65 years old.

He’s suited to clubs in the lower end of the prem which is not where we want to be.

I can't cope with us being a club managed by some pensioner playing hoof who is aiming for 8th the next season.

I'm sorry, but it's not for me. We exist to survive in his eyes.

You gravy boys PA by any chance ? jeez..Thank god this season is nearly over and only one more walk up City Road .. he has sucked all enjoyment out of going the game and I totally and utterly despise his brand of football..as its all about opinions...you and your fellow happy clappers on this thread are why we will never aspire to get better...because you settle for total average...and think this is the standard going forward for our club...

I’m very dispondent at some of the support for Sam on this forum

But then I listen to talkSPORT and there’s kopites saying Salah is the best PL league player ever and Emre Can is world class

So I support every club has “them” supporters

Stability cannot exist without success.

If this club is not succesful then nothing should be stable and questions should be being asked.
