Spot on. And the beaut said if we want to be entertained to “go the theatre”. Hate everyone in punditry at present

Very disappointed in Hoddle. He said himself its not the football he'd what to watch but apparently it's good enough for us.

There's a real arrogance to that. Unforgivable. My respect for him has plummeted.

That is an extraordinary thing for a TV pundit to say.

I wonder what the BT honchos make of someone they are employing to add colour and excitement to a “product” they have paid hundreds of millions to broadcast suggesting that being “entertained” is not particularly high up on the list of priorities and that the viewer might want to look elsewhere if he wants to be “entertained”.

I think this awful expression was coined by Alan Durban when he was un charge of a particularly dour Stoke side in the 80s.

Since then it has become the peg on which the likes of Allerdyce, Pulis and their ilk have hung their hat as they bored the bejasus out of their own fans.

As for Hoddle, why he is allowed anywhere near a TV studio after his disguting, hateful and incredibly hurtful remarks about disabled people baffles me.

Big Ron has never been heard from again after his racial faux pas.....Andy Gray and his sleazy mate are banished to a Middle Eastern ststion for their lewdness.

Yet this prat is free to spout his bollox on mainstream TV.

It seems like you're suggesting limited incomings so here's what I think we need.

1-2 starting cbs. Keeping around Holgate, Keane, and possibly RFM especially if the new boss (<I'm willing this to happen) is a fan of a 3(5) back system like me.

Depending on what Antonee Robinson looks like a starting lb. In fact we need one no matter what as lately it seems as though Leighton can only make it through half a season.

One more attack minded cm to go along with Gana, Morgan, Beni, Tom, and Davy. Get Rooney out.

One or two more wingers depending on if Onyekuru becomes eligible for a permit after the wc. With Lookman, Vlasic (best cutting in off the left to me, not playing through the middle like some suggest) and Walcott. Please please move Bolasie on.

At the most one forward. I think Cenk can lead the line and I believe in DCL's ability/ potential. If someone gives us 15-20m or up for Niasse I'd take it. Sorry Oumar, I love your attitude just not your touch.

So between 4-7.

If you think that's creating too many strangers then would you care to share your vision?
Personally I'd go:

Picks

Coleman Keane Mori Baines

Creativemid Gana

Walcott Lookman Iceman

Cenk

With no European comp to worry about that side should be good enough to get top 6 imo. More important to get rid of all the lads hanging about not playing it must create a toxic atmosphere around the club.

When he came in, if you'd have offered me 8th place and Sam Allardyce boring us away from the relegation scrap then I'd have took it. He has done what we needed him to do.

If you had offered me Sam Allardyce for longer than the end of this season then I wouldn't have took it. I think people forget that the mood at the time was that he'd be a short term fix to correct the mess we found ourselves in because of last summer. Then we'd go for the real new man in the summer when we weren't going to the negotiating table sat by the bottom.

What has made things as bad as they are now is Sam Allardyce the man. Whether you rate him as a manager or not, nobody can deny he is an an insufferable, arrogant, dour, heavy breathing pig.

He's the foul tasting medicine we had to take for a sickness we gave ourselves by leaving the squad so unbalanced. He'll be gone in the summer, his reputation with the media in tact and £6m better off.

Who we get next is the key. It was only December that Moshiri himself floated Simeone to Sky Sports. Massive period in our modern history coming up.

..whilst most of us want a progressive, innovative and enlightened new Manager/DoF partnership, I do think it’s important not going overboard on the ante-Allardyce shouts. The bloke has done the job he was brought in to do, it can be argued that he has done better than expected given where we were after Southampton away.

Let the powers that be know the case for change, but hate is perhaps too strong a word to use for a man who achieved his goal in getting us safe.

Nope. Can't honestly remember a more disappointing season than this, especially after all the talk of "watch this space, things will never be the same" etc etc.

I dared to hope.

What a tit.

Baines will be drawing his pension starting fom June I believe

How come people are questioning Leicester's manager? Yet we spent 250m+ yet according to the media we have to lump it.

I think some of the anger towards Sam comes from the frustration with our hopes being dashed from the summer and the shambles at board level. And the fact that we are terrified he might stay!

Could be right. Just hoping we qualify again next season and then we'll have more than enough games for them. They can be upset for a season. Also we seem to have bad luck with injuries but that may be just my myopic view of world football.

Exactly mate, Man U fans are being backed by media and pundits alike about Jose's boring football, playing 2 defensive midfielders, not attacking enough like Sir Alex's team did and spending a shed load of money, yet we are supposed to pay money each week and put up with what is going on at GP.

Without question the worst CB pairing in the EPL & probably half the championship!

If im honest mate, i dont really put much stock in the media or naaritives within it, its all spoon fed jarg for the masses.

I want to watch an everton team which give me hope. That's all I ask. Without hope we may as well not exist. With Allardyce, there is no hope. I find it strange you can't grasp this. Unless you think 8th is really good?
