But we didn’t. And you know why? Because Allardyce is not a positive, forward-thinking manager. His first thought is to not get beat. That’s fine in certain games. But I think his ability to come up with a plan to dominate teams and actually go out play on the front foot and win well is seriously lacking. There is no excuse for that setup today, none whatsoever. That’s the setup of a manger who’s always thinking the worst. And yes I know our squad isn’t the best, but [Poor language removed] me, it’s West Brom lads. If this is how we deal with them then whats the point?

People accept Allardyce because he gets results. But he’s never demonstrated that he can win trophies. And the way the top 6 are, what else is there for us to realistically target? We’ve spent £150 million and look further away than ever. If we’re not even playing decent football than what exactly is the big deal with finishing around 9th and accepting such dreadful hoofball? Is it avoiding relegation? Is that what we’ve been reduced to?

So was Koeman. And Koeman put us in this position with the squad he built.

That game was in the balance until Pickford made the save and Rooney scored a worldy. Along the way they smashed one against the bar and had other chances, we were on the ropes, unable to retain the ball for anymore than 3 passes or contain a bottom half team at Goodison. We were never 4-0 better than them and Moyes knew it was a missed opp. Against Watford, we were dead and buried until they made ridiculous defensive errors and even missed a pen in the last minute. Forget the score, performance wise we were not 4 goals better than West Ham. Water under the bridge now and the points are on the board. But for me Unsworth was managing via popularity with the playing staff rather than a proper tactical game plan on how to win football matches against specific opposition.
Delusional.

Im sure some whoppers would be happier if we tried to win and failed like Swansea just have, least they had a go

We lost 1-4 against Soton a few weeks ago and some are not happy with us grinding out points? We barely scored and were shipping out goals for fun before Sam took over. I don't get this. As long as we beat the team on Sat and Leicester lose to RS we are up to 8th before we play Man United at home on new year day. So far so good and I like clean sheets.

Likely to be the best football we play this season. Absolutely nowt to do with Allardyce.
Allardyce seems to have Lady Luck on his side. The mere fact he was in the stand probably won us that game. We got dead lucky with them missing the penalty ( which if they had got, they would have gone on to win...imo) And then Rooney’s goal from halfway...
And since then we’ve had large slices of luck every game.
Big Sam might be the best thing to happen to Everton in over a generation.
