That’s because he got the balance all wrong though. Rooney in a midfield two is never going to work, right footed bolasie in front of right footed Martina on the left meaning we had no width on that side. Awful tactics from start to finish.

Thats kind of my point - we don’t have a left footer fit in the squad so who else do you play there? ...and Rooney went in to midfield because we do not have a creative centre mid.

We were a shambles before Big Same came in, but he got us organized and dragged us right up the table.Obviously 1 point from the West Brom and Bournemouth games is disappointing. The attacking play needs to improve, and im sure there will be signings, to help towards improving that in January. But i will highlight some stats before vacating the stage for the boycotters and the bedwetters!

We played 8 games so far in the Allardyce era and today was our first defeat. In 8 games we have conceded 4 goals. That is an improvement on what was happening under both Koeman and Unsy.Offensively we still have a lot of improving to do, but at least the transfer window will be open in a couple of days. And seeing that i doubt, we can persuade Guardiola to dump Citeh for us, were just going to have to hope that Big Sam, understands that the football needs to improve.Even someone like Guardiola could only do so much with this squad.

Where is the 6 defenders per game stat? Or the number of games in which he had to make formation and personnel changes at half time? Or the fact we have 2 shots on target in 3 games? Why haven’t you quoted the possession stat?

It’s as if we were never in a relegation fight lol

The absolute state of this place.
We'll be back in one in no time under this negative tw@t, 1 point from 2 games against bottom 3 sides, those today are THE worst side in the league on form for the last 6 games, and they looked the better side all game.

There was positive players to start with if he wanted to, he chose to start 3 DM's against the worst team in the league.

This is why of all the players in the squad Schneiderlin is by far the most frustrating because we paid £20m+ for him to be the player that could start attacks and play passes between the lines.

making himself out to be some type of god, miraculous recovery from when he took over,i never thought we would be in trouble and the wins v west ham and huddersfield i thought we would get if sam or unsworth were here myself,to negatvie and sounding like he wont play players without any real prem experience in his interview,,we have lets be real got lucky in quite a few games, niasse should be starting ahead of DCL for me all the time, for one, lookman and viasic should be ahead of bolasie and mccathy for now,as he even said hes playing not match fit players etc, start the other and bring bolaise and co on for last 15mins or so

The people to blame for this are the Director of Football and Ronald Koeman. The Board to an extent but they would be doing the deals based on the information from the expensive 'experts' that they hired to advise them and deliver results. This squad is so unbalanced with a mish mash of players, it is no surprise that the team continues to be produce similar attacking performances to those under Koeman, but is defending well enough to at least stay in games. Any coach worth his salt will tell you that it is much easier to organise footballers to defend - making them into an attacking force is much, much harder as that part of the game relies on talent, blend of players and to a large extent player instinct. In fairness to SA, whom I remain seriously depressed about being our manager, he has got us organised at least enough to give ourselves a chance in most games. Previously that was not the case and I honestly believe we would remain in the bottom 3 now had he not arrived. Judge him at the end of Jan, early Feb but until then you cannot really blame the man who inherited an expensive but very, very poor squad. He's trying to polish a turd and not sure who else we could hire to do better.

But we’ve done a lot better than expected away from home the last few games before that. Today is the norm over the last 18 months not the exception.

Again so why are people calling for him to be sacked etc

Not me.

What I find it odd is changing a back line which continue to keep clean sheets. Or playing an unfit player. I think he even tried to change the way we are trying to play by asking our crap defenders not to hoof. Look how many misplaced pass today. That was utterly shocking. Today's game is like watching Koeman's team right before he was sacked.

He better get it sorted. Just keep the winning team or a team that defend well.

Dishearteningly negative set up today, but in Allardyce's defense it was Koeman who made a team that can't paly on the front foot without being totally exposed.

As I said though, it’s about balance. You can play Rooney in midfield to be creative but you need people around him to do his running and tackling, but we didn’t give him that so it was never going to work. Sigurdsson does a job on the left, bolasie wants to run at people and cross, which he struggles to do on the left. He’s also clearly nowhere near fit and should not be playing yet in my opinion as he looks way off the pace.

We are horrific. No team is as unbalanced as this, teams might be low on quality but at least they have enough players to play in positions familiar to them. Cuco Martina, a mid-table League 1 right back is our first choice left back because the previous obese moron of a manager decided not to buy or register one. Phil Jagielka, our worst ever captain who's been finished for 4 years, is a starting centre back. Oumar Niasse and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are our goal threat. That's as bad as it gets in this league.

And yet he’s dropped anyone with an ounce of pace or direct play, rushed 2 players back from long term, played Jagielka and has isolated our striker so much you could literally park 4 buses between him and the rest of the team.

He literally went to 2 teams who haven’t won in donkeys and thought “a point is what I need here”. No intention of even trying to get anything else

You have forgotten we’re not very good hence the current “stop” tactics. He opens us up and we get what we seen before he arrived. This is not an Allardyce mess but one he will invariably take the rap for.
