I think out all the main clubs in England Everton, Liverpool, Man City, Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs.Only Everton would have fans, who are reasonably contented after going out of the FA Cup to one of their rivals. We are the only club, who would have fans saying give the manager another season, as a response to our last hope of a trophy this season going up in smoke.

Everton is a massive club, we are a sleeping giant, but some of our fans have the mentality of a Stoke or a West Brom supporter.Evertonians are a lot more happy to accept and tolerate failure and mediocrity, in comparison to supporters of our rival clubs.

We are not as big / rich as the other clubs you mentioned in this day and age. Stoke and West Ham are prob closer to us - have richer owners and better stadium for commercial ventures. Being unrealistic about out position is probably why fans at Everton have unrealistic expectations of players, give players no time to settle or come back from injury. When we have champions league quality players we boo them and moan about them on this forum arguing that being happy with them is to accept and tolerate failure and mediocrity ...

The reason why we aren't is because we have accepted mediocrity and decline for too long.

What we do need to see is progress both on and off the pitch but we also need to be realistic.

We need to recognise when we have good players and support them. To many people on here and at Goodison are too quick to turn on players.
In previous season it’s been Barkley, stones and lukaku and even del. this season it’s been bolasie, gilfi and rooney
All victims of the boo boys if they are not perform to the standard of messi week in and week out. It’s Crazy nonsense.

Spot on, and well said.

Yeah but they didnt want to be here, which didnt help, as for Del? He was was always a substitution waiting to happen whenever he started. However I agree with your sentiment, the abuse is getting pathetic these days but I think its been like that for a while

when players are adored they feel an affinity to the club.
Last player to get that adulation was Duncan Ferguson. We have had far better players since

Sack him now. He's done his job - we're safe from relegation.

We are out of the cups so other than the 8th place trophy we've nothing to play for this year.

Just get rid of this fat clown and get someone in that will actually try and play decent football. They'd have the rest of the season to bed in and look at the squad and transfer targets in the summer.

To me it's a no-brainer. I really have no desire to aspire to 8th place on the back of turgid football.

I'd much rather at least try and play a sexy attacking style and end up around the same.

To be frank i understand the sentiment but it wouldn’t look great for any prospective signings.

My only hope is that we do not sign players that simply fit the SA style.

lol

But that's exactly what we will do. He's a well-established permanent manager on a multi-year contract.

That's what I never got - if we wanted Sam to save us from relegation - even though it was never a real threat - then we should have given him a temporary contract.

For the good of the club he's got to go as soon as possible.

I want to know what the strategy is behind the football side of the club.

Who is making the signings? What is the targets over the next five years?

I worry that we are just letting management regimes dictate styles/policies/attitudes when it should be coming from the DoF and managers/players should be able to be replaced easily with the strategy remaining the same.
