Maybe, but you also have to account for the fact that this team is an embarrassment to the club away from home and has been way before Allardyce got here. So those expecting us to go to places like that and put in good performances and get 4-6 points were deluding themselves. We should have been capable of getting 2 draws, or at least 1 win out of them though.

No one has a “right” to expect us to go anywhere and win.

What we are entitled to expect however is for our manager to approach games against struggling teams with a more attacking mind and actually try to win them instead of merely trying to avoid defeat.

Which is exactly what happened and that pair of games stopped our revival under Sam stone dead in its tracks.

Especially as the next two league games were two which none of us suspected for a moment we would have won and as per usual, EFC don’t let us down when expectations are so low :(

As you say, we were well capable of winning at at least one of those venues.....that we never even gave it a go was criminal.

Big Sam can't play expansive football, he'll shut up shop against West Brom and hopefully grab a goal. It won't be a pretty sight. The best we can hope for is to survive this season and hope he goes in the summer, then get someone in who's gonna build us to actually have a go.

I think we should all reflect on what happened to Nottingham Forest dropping out of the top flight, because I can see that's where we're headed.
Still no left back or any left sided defensive player, 2 weeks into the transfer window, with a billionaire on the board, this is a joke.

I think Villa is a more apposite analogy.

Forest under Clough was a flash in the pan....a club which had never really achieved much before him and was up and down the divisions.

Villa are a venerable footballing institution in this country and indeed have won the European Cup and the League Title more recently than Forest.

Founder members of the Football League, same as ourselves.

Everton v Villa the most played top flight fixture in England.

They were even battling for top four when MON was there, as we often were under Moyes and again with Bobby.

Us taking the Villa trail is my big worry right now.

Want this joke of a manager out this summer along with that fraud rat Walsh. We should 100% take Silva he plays attractive exciting football. We need to get rid of 50% of the squad Rooney(can join mls) he’s either hot of cold we don’t need this. Sigurdsson cannot fill Barkley’s shoes sorry but it’s soo soo true. We have nobody creating chances and if you look at last season Barkley created most of them. Will need another 200 - 300 mill his summer our season is in shambles and it hurts to watch our team
