Have you seen the nationalities of the current top 6? There is a serious lack of quality in the game of English managers, you only have to look at the national manager to see that.
I agree but the Premier League sides do not shop in Britain so nobody gets the chance to come through.

The best managers this country has ever seen by a million miles have been British. Allardyce should be given a chance with a few quid. Before we were flooded with foreign managers British teams were great in Europe as well. Not being a little Englander by the way.

Give us a reason for your opinion.

Even if it was true, that wouldn't be enough to make Allardyce a good manager.

I don't think he actually said that though did he haha.

didnt he?

“We have some young players who are very attractive in terms of their abilities like Vlasic and Lookman,” the manager said last week. “But they are so young and having to play them in the first team every single week – we have already been running with four players 23 and under – is for me a risky game in terms of results. Everton needs results until such time as it is certainly safe in the Premier League. If I try to then groom those players further there is over £2m a place. You need to still try and win. Grooming a youngster then becomes even more difficult because of the money.”

Oh apologies I hadn't seen those quotes. Shame.

He's 100% correct.

We're a flakey team. Until we're a confident team, playing young lads in that environment isn't going to do them any favours....apart from getting used to the boo boyz

If they were good enough they would get the jobs though Moyes didn't do the rest any favours.
What it needs is for clubs to be a bit braver and stop going back to the dinosaur club Pullis,Hughes, pardew and big Sam ect.
Most of the great British managers started in the lower divisions.

Logic is completely the wrong word. If you want to disagree please do it so we can understand your point.
You’re arguing that as British managers are the most successful and Allardyce is British we should give him a go. The most accurate way of assessing Allardyce’s potential isn’t his nationality it’s his lengthy managerial track record. Given that his track record is extremely average I’d say there’s no reason why we should give him a go and every reason why we should sack him at the end of the season.

I think there is an argument about British and Foreign bosses. We don't really know how some British managers would do if they had a similar budget to the top tier clubs.

Ferguson didn't have to budget and was smashing the british transfer records many times, Rogers at Liverpool had a decent budget and almost won the league, Hughes had a bit of a budget at Man City but no time to do anything. I would like to see Mourihno, Pep, Conte etc at clubs like West Brom and Stoke and the likes to see if they could do much better. Wenger was a great success at Arsenal but the lay of the land was a bit different because Man Utd didn't have too much competition until he took over at Arsenal and when competition grew Wenger has found it tougher.

Most of the foreign managers have done well abroad where the buck went a bit further than here and anyone who learns the trade abroad is likely to land a plum job here at a club with a large budget. Look at Mourihno now spending £90m, £75m etc on players and he is still hassling the board for more money. It will never happen but would be interesting to see reversed roles.
Pochettino has done it the harder way but has still won nothing so I do believe we will never be able to judge a British manager until they are on par with budgets. It may be correct that they are lacking but it's difficult to call.

What? So even when we're 100% safe you think its right not to give some of the best 20 yr olds in the world no game time for the sake of some prize money?
Developing our young talent is the only way we'll ever win anything ever again but sure keep playing Aaron Lennon.
