What? So even when we're 100% safe you think its right not to give some of the best 20 yr olds in the world no game time for the sake of some prize money?
Developing our young talent is the only way we'll ever win anything ever again but sure keep playing Aaron Lennon.

They will get game time. Just not when every little mistake they'll make will more than likely cost us 3 points at the moment.

And even then he's got Holgate, Kenny, Davies, DCL playing pretty regular or in the squad to make a contribution.

We throw Vlasic and Lookman into that, that's 6 under 23 outfielders. No team does that.

And it won't "win" us anything. What it'll bring in is transfer money when they're sold if they're any good.

I wouldn't be too fussed if those three spent time away from the first team if it meant Lookman and Vlasic got more game time.

Bfs is doing ok & now has two major signings under his belt, our team looks much better now since bfs has come & we should now have a much more attacking threat...

18 months is bfs contract so let's judge then when he has had a decent run...
He won't do ok I'm my opinion. I hope I'm wrong but look at the last 20 years to see how the next year is going to go. We will improve (hard not to really from how bad we have been) but we will end up mid table, safe and boring. Playing awful football.

The senior players in the team make mistake after mistake and it doesn't matter to fat sam, why should they be punished cos they're young?

Exactly - if I were to be lining up players in order of useless performances it would be topped by our senior pros.

Fact is Allardyce doesn't trust young players - never has, never will.

Playing a youngster is a huge risk. £20m+ signings on £100k plus a week, with no resale value is fine if you give no thought to next season or the season after.

Only hope is we get him (and Walsh) out before they do too much damage.

Is money helpful in winning trophies?

Trouble is, a new manger may do exactly the same and stick to the "Older more Experienced" players

Erm... that's a bit of nonsense to be fair mate. He's played and brought through youngsters at every club he's been at, two are staples in our first team right now and they couldn't get a game under the big fat Dutchman.

didnt he?

“We have some young players who are very attractive in terms of their abilities like Vlasic and Lookman,” the manager said last week. “But they are so young and having to play them in the first team every single week – we have already been running with four players 23 and under – is for me a risky game in terms of results. Everton needs results until such time as it is certainly safe in the Premier League. If I try to then groom those players further there is over £2m a place. You need to still try and win. Grooming a youngster then becomes even more difficult because of the money.”
So on that basis, we need to climb 10 places in the league to pay for Theo Walcott. That should be a doddle;).

Or alternatively, we could just give Vlasic and Lookman more game time, develop them into better players than Theo has ever been, and trade the £20m we spent on Walcott for staying pretty much where we are in the league. Easy this football management.:)

In fairness, I'm not totally against Walcott. I think the squad will benefit from having him here as he's an upgrade on Lennon, Mirallas and probably Bolasie too. His pace and goalscoring will be most welcome.

Plus the lads Vlasic and Lookman are still only 20 and not ready to be starting week in week out in the premier. But what they do need is more game time, and at least one of them should be getting a minimum a 20 mins off the bench every game plus starting the odd game against the lesser teams (beginning with WBA at home this week). You just know it won't happen though.

And those comments from Allardyce?. Exactly the sort of thing I expected to hear from the guy when we appointed him. The longer he stays the further back we'll go with him.

Kenny and to a less extent Holgate are mainly playing out of pure necessity.
