we didn't play well before he took over either, which is why he took over in the first place

people are acting like we were playing like Barca before Sam got here
0 shots on target in 3 of our last 6 games. I'm not a stat man but that is hardly signs of progress, we are completely impotent now despite spending £50m on forwards. For a brief period the fat man stopped us conceding between 2 and 4 goals per game but that isn't looking too clever now either, we should have shipped 6 or 7 against Spurs and we were kept in it by Pickford and the woodwork as we were overrun by 19th placed West Brom. At home! I admire your loyalty to the Everton manager but things look bleak and he doesn't seem to have any solutions other than playing the same formation and most of the same players (many out of position) as the previous two managers this season. Why get rid of Koeman and Unsworth and then play the same stupid system that isn't working? As Einstein never said "Doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity".

not at all saying we have progressed - we have, going forward at least, regressed.

But, we weren't playing well going forward or defending prior to his arrival anyway.

We had a bit of a bounce and since he fiddled with the set-up (part due to necessity, but also out of just poor management) it's fallen to bits again.

I'm not sticking up for him mate. I don't want him here, but I also don't think we should rewrite history either.

He did a decent job in his first few games and for a plethora of reasons he's tailed off recently.

The football is dross but it was dross before as well. So no change there.

He isn't the route of the problems, but he certainly isn't the solution.

We haven't after the manager bounce wore off actually improved defensively, and during that new manager bounceveore rode our luck as well.

Just get rid of both him and Walsh asap

Okay so a number of replies to this thread - solution we SACK Sam ?

Admitably I can be too defensive of critics being 6000km away and surrounded by R/S - G/S and UTD dimwits , I mainly respond too by way of expletives then the killer punch a complex question EG who do you play next or name me three 1st team players ? o_O

Therefore as this is GOT / fellow dedicated Evertonians - I have carefully read the pros and cons .

My view is just short of 2 months Sam does not deserve the SACK in fact this would be suicidal !
Sam admitably after a solid start is having a bad run and yes he has made mistakes , but look at the mess he inherited TBH truly I cannot see any other manager would have done better , he has in the main a squad of disfunctional / demotivated / unbalanced players , some for reasons unknown after doing great in 2016/17 from the word go this season have gone down the tubes ?

Also its easy to say SACK , SACK but who then replaces Sam I do not see on most of the SACK replies high quality viable alternatives being put on the table , when replacing Koeman there was not many knocking down the door to get in , therefore do we re look at Dyche and Da Silva who seemed interested - would they do any better ?

No one thinks we were good pal!! sooner hes gone the better.

Nothing positive to say about him or the situation after giving him the initial chance. Brought in on massive money to stabilise us and doesn't seem to know how to get the players playing.

Thing is. If it wasn't Sam in this position. A lot would be calling for Sam to come in and save us. He is (and was) the most sure thing to save a team from relegation. If that is/was your only goal, then he is/was the most logical and rational choice.

For that reason, I am in the keep him until the summer, then really consider who you choose next camp. We need someone who has a long term vision that can be successful. That is just such a hard one to pick. We don't want to back the wrong horse again (i.e., Koeman)

He doesn`t want to get them playing, all he wants is to play each game for a draw.

Even if watching makes your eyes bleed, this is irrelevant, as long as the objective of one point is achieved.

This isn`t going to change at any point for the rest of the season.

its very worrying as you look at teams below us and they at least are creating chances. Cant see anything from next 2 games

Allardyce wanted a chance to manage a team like us but he is blowing it big time. Far too cagey and no movement in midfield, or up front, all play in the channels and don't commit that many forward in case the play breaks down and we are hit on the counter.

Come on Mate, have a bit of hope if not faith. Stay blue.

Have to counter that thought by pointing out the players he inherited. Does not excuse poor selections or subbing but is a factor.

He just needs to be binned summer. And we have to keep throwing up until then.

I`ll always be a blue mate, but it was so obvious from day one, that things were always going to end the way they currently are with Allardyce.

Even the fan boys and those willing to give him a go, are seeing through him now.

I hate to say, it but I can see it getting much worse before it gets better.

See my other post, if not him who else was on the horizon wanting to jump in and take over?
