contracts are nothing but a bargaining tool

Not in this instance, I reckon he negotiated a hard one. He was not coming cos we only offered till end of the season, we looked elsewhere, panicked and offered 18 months on his terms as far as it seems.
We can get out but will cost £££SSS

tell that to Martinez and koeman who where both under contract when they were put in the bin

this fat useless donkey won't be here past the summer, and if he is then all it's going to do is wind the fans up even more than they already are

Difference was, it was on his terms, he was not bothered, we made an offer that he could not refuse, trust me, there will be MASSIVE compo for sacking him

Probably will mate

but the money he's spent hiring and firing so far tells me he aint bothered about getting rid of sam

especially how quick and easy the fans have turned on him, he's not good enough for this club and nothing in his worthless career said anything different, he just panicked after Southampton and atalanta bummed us

I Agree

There genuinely seems to be some sort of cognitive dissonance happening here as to the calibre of manager we can appoint going forward.

When was the last time we appointed a world-recognised manager? At a push, maybe Howard Kendall in 1997?

Koeman took over an established squad, set up by Pochettino.

Martinez took over after taking Wigan down.

Moyes took over from second division Preston North End.

Smith took over from Rangers after he 'retired'.

Come on guys and girls, get real. Allardyce is our manager for at least another year, and the only way things will improve is if we back him.

I think I would edit your bit on Martinez to say also "took over a good squad set up by Moyes."

I'm sorry to be mr party pooper here and not live in fantasy world where everything is great

but why are we backing him? what's going to change? a few sam songs at goodison is going to change 30 years of management style and he's all of a sudden going to become a boss manager?

he's a dinosaur and should stick to clubs who are grateful to "just be in the division" every year, if that's our aim we might as well sell the bramley moore dock back and give up now

your also missing the point, moyes and Martinez at the time of being appointed both had massive potential ( something moyes reached and something in his first season so did Martinez )
