He did say celtic was his club , used to travel on the ferry to watch his club.
But he'll give his life for ........Leicester!

He’s come cross as the type of guy who just tells people what they want to hear. For him to say he would die for Leicester is toe curling.

Ideally, everyone would like a man who supports the club to take charge of their club, but it doesn’t work out too well all that often. All I ask is a man who is preofessional, and does his job, like Martin O’Neil did. Brendan did some things, like improving players who were already there, exceptionally. Other things, like signings, he didn’t do so well.

Like I said, if he had waited until the end of the season he would have left with my, and almost everyone else’s, best wishes. Instead he’s ruined his legacy, and is unlikely to be welcomed back to Celtic Park for a long time, if ever. All for ten, or so, weeks.

Not having his claim for one minute that it was now or never for Leicester. If they wanted him that much they would not have minded waiting another 10 weeks for him especially as they have little left to play for this season. Instead he's gone and ruined his Celtic legacy in one foul swoop. Crazy decision which he seems to have given little thought to.

Rumours from the Leicester end strongly suggest that they were fine with him seeing out the season, so it's not a massive if in the slightest

Rodgers has stated quite tge opposite in interview that a number of players under contract needed sorting and Leicester needed him in place otherwise may have to look elsewhere.

For Rodgers, if he wanted the opportunity he had to move.

So indeed he there were what for him were compelling reasons if he didnt want to run a large risk of the opportunity going to someone else.

That is the point though, Leicester were by no means in the situation where they definitely wouldn't look elsewhere, publicly they will want to declare he was the only one, let's face every club says that with their new manager, perhaps not every new manager but certainly most of them.

In practice though Leicester would have had other options.

I don't believe Rodgers one bit about his protestations of undying love for every club he manages, he would go from Leicester tomorrow if something better came along.

Managers usually get sacked on results, one really bad run can be fatal, their life expectancy in one job isn't on average great, I can't really blame any manager for working the system in his favour if better opportunities arise.

If Celtic supporters were shocked by the manner in which Brendan Rodgers left this week, then they should have cast their minds to when he walked out on Watford.

It was in the summer of 2009 that Rodgers departed in circumstances that ensure he will not be given the most welcoming of receptions at Vicarage Road on Sunday when he returns as manager of Leicester.

Undoubtedly it will not be as hostile as the atmosphere Marco Silvafaced when he took Everton to Watford last month, but there is no love lost between Rodgers and Hornets fans.

It was Watford who gave Rodgers his first job in management in 2008, plucking him from Chelsea, where he had been earning praise for his work with the club’s youth teams.

After a shaky start at Vicarage Road, the 46-year-old guided the then cash-strapped club to 13th in the Championship. His fine work led to him being linked with Reading, a club that were attractive to him given that his family were based there at the time.

The Watford Observer quizzed Rodgers over reports linking him with a move but they were swiftly put down.

“When I am asked about other clubs, people are questioning my integrity and one thing I have mentioned is I always have integrity,” Rodgers told them on May 22, 2009.

“I am loyal and find it disloyal when I am asked about other clubs when I am the Watford manager. Nothing has changed in that respect.”

Just weeks later, Rodgers was unveiled as the new boss of Reading. The Watford Supporters Trust quickly voiced their displeasure and told Rodgers he had “damaged his reputation in the eyes of Watford fans”.

He's a clown and always has been. Glad Celtic fans have finally woken up too it.

He's a good coach, although I remember his Liverpool connections and can't wish him well.

Celtic fans have seen him leave for Leicester and are understandably not too happy, as for a sudden awakening it isn't that at all, it's unhappiness at previous protestations of loyalty and support not carried out in practice.

His domestic record was something he gave them and can't just be rubbed out simply because they now a week later see him as disloyal and disreputable.

of course he'd say that

doesn't mean it's true

Two outrageous finishes from the Celts, there.

Deserved the win.

Scott Brown doesn't score for a year or two then scores three important goals almost on the bounce. Celtic deserved their win, through safely into the bag for the semi- finals.
Hibs fans didn't cover themselves in glory with a glass bottle and a coin caught on TV narrowly missing Scott Sinclair.
