He is not finished, he is just playing rubbish. Why does everything have to be so black and white with our fans?

He's played crap every game bar one since a near career ending injury. Its fair to say that said injury has taken a toll on him as they do.

He's good enough against the sides like Brighton but he's found out against the top 6 and thats why we need an improvement if we are to ever seriously compete / end our losses Agaisnt them.

Has been playing rubbish for a while I think.

He has, kind of. Does he not deserve a bit of leeway though?

He hasn't been the Coleman we are used to, he is still generally doing fine. (though his crossing is awful..).

I think its more of a case of deciding if Kenny is worth persisting with.

Every player has a drop in form every now and again.

Pound for pound he`s been one of our best ever signings.

He isn`t finished, but we need proper cover.

He`ll come good again.
I hope so, but there are echoes of Baines with this. I also think Walcott made Coleman look worse as most full backs would struggle 1 v 1 against Martial in the mood he was in. If he was doubling up on him more it would've really helped him. He is returning from a horrific injury so time is needed, he is a good captain though so he adds more than just his personal performance. His throw ins wind me up though.

In fairness to Walcott, a big part of that was clearly tactical. He wasn't being asked to double up, he was playing as a wide forward not an auxiliary full back, and it seemed pretty clear to me that our plan was to use him as a threat on the break rather than asking him to keep getting back. Obviously that didn't work out too well, but I could see the logic.

Coleman hasn't been at his best for a good while, but he's still an above average full back. We probably need to start looking at a replacement in the summer if we have genuine ambitions of crashing the top table but that shouldn't be a surprise anyway, he'll be 31 early next season so you'd hope we'd already factored that into the equation.

That was what I was thinking, but I don't recall Bernard doing the same on the opposite wing. I might be wrong though as not much went down there.

Yeah, I think Bernard would naturally be deeper because we want to get him on the ball, whereas Walcott we wanted to get in behind. I do think there's a bit of an issue with Walcott and Coleman together, they're not a natural partnership and tend to gravitate towards the same spaces when attacking which isn't ideal.

The last time I remember Coleman being good was when we played Barkley out wide with him. Naturally Barkley cuts in which allows Coleman to overlap. I think we need to find a Bernard for the right in that regard. Lookman may be the answer.

Tbf for the goal he had to mark rashford, I agree with Walcott not having to track back all game, but at times your midfielders have to dig in to win at these places and as he was already back there he should have been going towards martial.
