Hmmm. I'm not writing him off. In isolation tonight though he was off the pace.

I didn't like how he responded to the first goal. Seemed flat. His body position for the second goal was all wrong too.

Mina was having to give him a gee up when we got our penalty which shouldn't be needed for our captain.

I thought he was excellent vs Liverpool though so happy to just put tonight down as a poor one.

Top player in his time, great lad but I think he's dropped off a cliff physically since the injury.

There's got to be some doubts about him after such a big injury.

However, I'd be inclined to give him time. I think with such a long period of not playing football it may be that he needs a good few months of solid football to get back to his top level. He's 30 at the moment so has a good few years left in him if he can regain anywhere near his best form.

Bigger question may be around the high intensity our full backs are asked to play at. Is it reasonable to expect 2 lads (Digne and Coleman) to carry that load over an entire season? The need for some quality replacements may be necessary since we ask them to get up and down the pitch a lot. Gives an opportunity to rest them but also to keep them on their toes.

Coleman been a terrific player but injury has changed him as a player, hardly ever gets overlapping apart from one run in the first half last night, and the own goal made him withdraw even more into himself ,doesn’t take much for his morale to slump

Was very poor last night, it wont take many more performances like that for the crowd to turn against him, i know a section of the upper Bullens where i was sitting was baying for his blood late on in the match.

How about isolate his entire season so far; last night was just a microcosm of it.

Not sure why he's getting so much criticism for last night. He contributed to our first goal and he was linking up well with Walcott at times in the first half.

I think at times his unorthodox clumsy style can frustrate the fans as the first goal may have been prevented but it was still extremely unlucky. The second was a complete mismatch in height so he had no chance with that, and you have to look at the defending from the others to allow that chance to develop. I think there were bigger issues in the team last night.

Good to see everyone applying some well-earned loyalty to one of our most reliable players of the past 10 years, who is still finding his way after a potentially career-ending injury. Family club only when it suits.

It's going to be pretty rancid going the match when the booing melts come for Coleman.

Million times this, our fans are embarrassing sometimes

Sentiment has no place in the modern game, and if we want to make the step to the next level as eveybody seems to be posting, then players who have three average games in four need replacing.Luckily for Coleman we don't have a replacement at the moment.
