Appreciating what he has done for the club and his work ethic, but also saying that it looks like he is past his best and needs replacing for the club to kick on is fine. Both can be true. Love the bloke, think he's got until the end of next season as a squad player but I wouldn't complain if we signed Wan-Bissaka in January, at all.

Sentiment has no place in the modern game, and if we want to make the step to the next level as eveybody seems to be posting, then players who have three average games in four need replacing.Luckily for Coleman we don't have a replacement at the moment.
Nothing wrong with this view. Isn't it why fergie was the best? He'd move a player on, no matter how high profile, if they didn't fit with his plans.

Do you think there was any need for that?

He is right though, about sentiment not kopite. The stuff Baines and seamus have done to promote our club and the thousands of hours they have put in, we just flippantly write them off as finished and not good enough depsite the fact that seamus is only 30 and snapped his leg a year ago. It is embarrassing mate and if totally honest, the sort of thing I would expect from one of them.

Think they get paid enough to dull the pain of any criticism.

Seems harsh. Coleman had been a great player as has baines. But get real, they are footballers on 60k+ a week. They aren't war heroes. If they aren't playing well you get rid.

hes in the same situation as what Baines was the last few seasons, adequate at times but obviously on the wain and getting targeted as a weak link. Time for an upgrade.

He is probably the best option for that position atm though so nothing will change unless we sign someone in January but most likely it'll be the summer
