Surely being 30 and having his leg snapped is even more reason to be concerned he’ll never reach the same level he once was.

Seems harsh. Coleman had been a great player as has baines. But get real, they are footballers on 60k+ a week. They aren't war heroes. If they aren't playing well you get rid.

I don't understand what their salary has to do with it though. It does not suddenly make them emotionless villains.

So you're saying he should start every game and be a passenger until he gets back up to speed? I have no problems with Coleman. My argument is that he shouldn't be our first choice right back on current form. We don't have an alternative though, so it is not exactly his fault l

Your argument is that people are being horrible about him? I don't see him getting death threats. People on a forum are debating whether he should be our first choice right back. Nothing more.

..I think he’s been ok in the last few games. He’s still getting behind the opposition back four even though he’s not the attacking threat he was in seasons gone by. I’m sure Brands knows he’ll need replacing but it won’t be a priority unless a player they particularly want is available.
