2021/22 Seamus Coleman

….he’s a top pro, Dave. His issue as he’s got older is injuries, it takes such a toll playing at this level for so long. He’ll know his game time needs to be carefully managed but he won’t be found wanting for application.

interesting now is who sits behind him in the queue. We know your opinion of Patterson and Kenny has been getting unexpected game time since the manager you adored left.

Kenny’s contract is due up in a few months. He’s done ok for Lampard but I think it would be a mistake giving him an extension. I like Patterson, I hope he gets the opportunity to prove he’s the next cab on the rank.
He's just played 3 games in a week. He isn't going to struggle with game time.

It doesn't matter what what order we believe the queue is in, its the manager's. He has made it plain he'll play both Coleman and Kenny before Patterson.

3-0 up at home, game over, fans ecstatic and Patterson still not trusted to be given gametime. Seamus and Jjk will need to stay healthy remainder of the season - the kid obviously nowhere near ready for the premiership. We'll need another rb in summer good enough to give Seamus a rest next season while Patterson learns the game he should be given dvds of Seamus to study at night and made to watch him in training.

Loved the one after the Swansea strike (although they have edited out him beating the advertising hoardings!
The funniest might be the Oviedo Man United goal, doesn’t know which way to run lol

Loved Oviedo, it was such a shame the injury he sustained.

Getting a dodgey stream with Spanish commentary and hearing him being referred to as coaly-man. Then him scoring.

todavía coaly-man todavía COALY-MAN gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooollll Cooooooooooooooooooaaly-man

Up there with the best memories.

Good lad good pro... Sadly diminishing returns on performances given age. Probably is what we need given the league position as experience is invaluable.

Safely away from relegation as in impossible point wise the lad gets game time... No way is this the time blood an incoming youngster.

Patterson has to go out to a Championship team to get experience. And tbh that's a bit of a hit and hope from what I've seen of his defensive capabilities.

I'm furious we wasted cash on that signing and added absolutely no pressure on the first team starters.

At 33, I think this should be his last season as a regular starter.

With cross accuracy between 7% (2019/20) and 31% (this season - according to the Premier League's website) - it's perhaps not surprising he's only been able to assist 4 goals over the last 3 seasons.

We can only hope Patterson can come in and do a job - we need more creativity from that position. Ignoring the full backs at the top end clubs - you have Digne, Cresswell, Coufal etc providing more assists in a season than Coleman manages over 3 or 4. It's an area we can, and need to improve.

So this poster can accuse me of all these things because I said Coleman has been absolute Rondon this season -- which until 12 hours ago, he had been.

Now they can accuse blues of being "idiots" and "at home on RAWK"

"One of the greatest Evertonians"

...who has decided to show up mentally and physically for one game this season.

Comparing to Ball and Labone?!?!?!?!

Now we get to the bottom of it...

Quite frightening.

@Bluerover I won't make comment on this again.

Final reminder;

Please use the report feature.

@Bluerover - you can't go 'assuming' with such public accusations - we won't tolerate that here. I'll refer you to your own recent post;

Lads, happy New Year. Can we please remove the invective and simply have polite debates. It is tough enough supporting Everton at the moment without seeing Blues attacking each other.

I agree mate.

Taking that same point, I would ask you - is it to difficult to challenge another's members opinion on a footballer without attacking them as racist, xenophobic etc?

It's not healthy to assume people are racist, xenophobic etc because of their opinion on a football player and of course, we can't go having people on here make such damning attacks based on their 'assumptions' of others.

Now, if we could get back on topic please...

only hope...

We should appreciate what we've had with Coleman. Probably the best value player we've had in the PL given his cost and impact.

But his attacking intent is still there, and we have to see whether the way Lampard wants to play his system Coleman benefits from it. He's still in great nick physically and he's our only obvious leader on the pitch. He'll see out this season as first choice RB. No question about that. I'll be intrigued to see what FL can get out of him.

Thank FSW.
