I'm gutted that it has ended this way, both for him personally with a terrible injury; and for the club which is on the precipice of disaster.

Should the worst happen - as is currently more likely than not - we'd need Seamus next season in the championship - even at 34/35 he'd do a good job at that level. What a dire situation.

Still proper gutted about Sheamo - praying he gets to captain and play a proper game for us again and also gets a testimonial, whenever he decides that’s it, it’s the least the feller deserves.

He’s never not heeded our call - we shouldn’t have been needing to call him but we did.

That’s very rough and quite upsetting. Club have ran him into the ground over the past 4 years and to go out like that is not good

It was difficult to accept what happened last night, but when you actually see the words 'expected never to play for Everton again' it is hard to stomach.

Actually can't believe that this is the end for a man who gave his all for Everton Football Club. A proper club legend in today's world of mercenaries if there ever was one.

The only hope now is that we can do the near impossible and stay up as a fitting tribute to his last year of captaincy.
