2022/23 Seamus Coleman

He is what he is now. A player who can pull out a decent performance now and then but doesn’t have the consistency. The injury to Patterson is killing us.

I’d put Godfrey or Holgate at right back until Patterson returns. 10 years ago Coleman was probably the best right back in the league but he’s been a liability for ages now.

Post Arsenal game: "Well done Seamus. What a leader".
Post Liverpool game: "He's genuinely crap, a wage thief."

Dont you people feel embarrassed?.....Ever?
Probably 10% believe the first line, was anyone with half Brain really taken in by some of the performances by players who’ve constantly let us down in the past.

If you have 2 full backs that are slow and can’t defend against pace and offer nothing going the other way, you may as well play 2 fast centre backs at full back. Funny the only manager who did that was one of the best in the world.

I’d be more concerned about dyche as a manager if both Coleman and Myko start v Leeds

Godfrey cant play football.

I hope Dyche has had a look at this and decided that untill Patterson is fit, his full back pairing should be Godfrey and Holgate, with Holgate making way for Patterson as soon as he is fit. At least they are mobile and have the movement and in the case of Godfrey and Patterson, the pace to cover our two rather sluggish centre backs when they get caught up the pitch after a set piece.

Mykolenko seems to be a nice kid, he tries hard, but, he offers absolutely nothing going forward and the bit of promise he showed defensively seems to have disappeared. He and Coleman are as poor a full back pairing as you will see at this level. Great servant though Seamus has been, he really must be taken out of the firing line now, for his good and ours.

You think if we'd have played Holgate against Arsenal he'd have done as well as Coleman?

Pffft!

Patterson is tat - a point he proved over multiple games this season. He cost us individually around 8/9 points with his atrocious positioning.
