Now that you've finally sacked the fat Tory and brought in a manager that knows how to set up a team, it'll be 'bye bye Coleman' and Patterson will finally be able to perfom in a proper formation with proper instruction.

The boy was almost ruined under Lampard.

As for Coleman. I felt really sorry for him last night. It's not his fault he's past it and has been for a long, long time.

Take a look on this thread. I've seen Patterson, Holgate and even Godfrey being touted as a better bet than Coleman.
I kind of think Dyche might be inclined to go with the experienced old campaigner just because he’s risk averse type manager.

That said, I’m sure he’s privately very concerned with last night’s showing.

Patterson is more of a wing-back... is that what dyche is looking for?
No Coleman apologist here mind, He started like a pat of Kerrygold, delicious, mouth watering, pure joy but has slowly become less capable over time (haven't we all) and is now becoming a tad rancid in the butterdish.
Clearly the RS were targeting him last night and that will continue.
Personally I'd like to see both Patterson and Godfrey back in the team to add some pace but its difficult to see a pback four of Patterson - Coady - Tarkowski - Godfrey working out - just seems so 'jagged'

Give me Coleman over Holgate and Godfrey any day of the week. His legs make be shot but at least he is disciplined enough to make up for some of his age. Those other two while young are absolutely mental out on the pitch.

Decent defender , but he hasn't got the up and down stamina anymore. And I am not sure Patterson is showing he is the heir apparent
Patterson is a baby in football terms I think the issue is we have to play him because Coleman is nearing the end we needed someone to bridge the gap at full back

Like has been mentioned many a time, Coleman has been a cracking player/servant for the club.
Many a club wished they had a player like him over the years.
2 horrendous injuries and he still come back and put just as much effort and love into this team.
The last of a dying breed, who's blood still runs blue.

Sadly its got to a point as with all players, age has taken its toll on him and he can't keep up to those performances.
Especially week in week out.. But he'll still give 100% whenever called upon.

I hate to see the fanbase gradually turning on him in numbers, it's a disgrace and should never ever happen...
Just remember one simple thing, He doesn't pick the team !!!

It is time Tho to hand the reigns over to Patterson, who I hope will be the future for the club.
But sadly he seems to have come down with the Medical Department |Syndrome that surrounds our club.

But the worst Everton captain I can remember.

Seems ludicrous from the outside, this. We really don’t know, but all you ever hear is how professional and hard working he is. Plus he is always there backing his teammates when it kicks off, unlike Jagielka who would hide. Phil Neville sat on the team bus thinking our players should sign for Man United and said 10th is a magnificent achievement for a club like Everton.

There’s no way he’s worse than them two.

Last paragraph let's you down there IMO.

Patterson is an appalling choice for RB.

He should only be seen as an emergency wide player for when McNeil is out.

The lad has contributed heavily to why we're in this mess with his error strewn defending.

Coleman will retain his position because when we're getting at teams he can add to the attacking threat as well as playing a part in a low block when we dont have the ball and are pinned back. There is STILL no other player in this squad who can offer that, however irregular he is at doing that these days.
