2024/25 Seamus Coleman

Wonder if he'd be caretaker manager if Dyche was sacked.

Thought Seamus played quite well until the last quarter. Still far superior to Young and Patterson. Both going forward and defensively. This was easily our most creative game for months, before the capitulation, when quite frankly several much younger players looked dead on their feet. A few people seem to have had an agenda with Coleman for years, if a few more team members had his professionalism and attitude we might not be in this position.

Yeh his professionalism and attitude to stopping crosses is wicked.

I mean he's better than Young but then again who isn't, and still -

Agenda against him - no, there's an agenda against his play, which is turd and has been for a while, but he's a 'top blue' as we know, so he must play and every mistake he does must be excused because... reasons.

He's also not our best right back by any metric by the way, and hasn't been for ages, but "there's an agenda against Patterson" too so :)

He was kept on cos he wages have dropped and save money buying a new full back. Decisions like this could take us down. I'm hoping the idea is for Dixon to stake his claim and Coleman as his mentor.

Don't remember too many crosses before the last few mins, after they'd changed half their team, during which our left back was getting run ragged too. Previous to that, Coleman had also been involved in several good moves up the right in our best performance in months.

That's a lot of waffle there instead of just saying "yes he should know how to stop crosses in his 15th year as a PL full-back"

Ridiculous of Dyche to leave him on the full game following on from the cup game, for me 15/20 minutes to go at 2-0 Dixon should have been brought on,we had them by the throat and he would have energised that right side, crowd would be right behind him,yes Seamus was at fault but not nearly as much as Dyche.

From Glasgow are you?

No agenda with Patterson whatsoever. He has had his injury problems, but doesnt seem to have regained his initial promise and appears to have fallen behind Seamus and Young in the pecking order (and even Godfrey last season) when he's been available. So, I'm not sure what metric you're talking about.

Hopefully, he'll regain his form and "his day will come" as some of you like to say up there.

He's Bulgarian Tom 😂

So, you think he's always conceeded lots of crosses, yet has managed a 15yr career despite that? That's both contradictory and complete waffle?

One of the scored headed crosses on Saturday was from our left. The one from our right was a deeper cross and therefore not entirely his responsibility, with a tap in at the back post where our left back had lost his man.... all Seamus' fault?
