Seamus Coleman

The usual healing time for a mid-shaft Tibia and Fibula fracture treated with cast immobilisation is 12 to 16 weeks. This is followed by rehabilitation with a Chartered Physiotherapist to restore the range of ankle and knee movement, and to restore the muscle strength that is lost during the immobilisation period.

First of all i love Seamus Coleman. I love how he gets Everton, how he is humble and a class act with EITC. I love his passion, his determination, his desire to make sure Everton are never second best - even in defeat, he wont give up and make a mockery of us. I, we, the club and its fans love you Seamus.

The arsenal blog was also very true, something myself and my grandad have been very vocal about. Taylor probably misses about 3 games or something. Seamus misses something like 9-12 months.

What does the football authorities do about it ? Nothing.

Taylor may not be a dirty player, it may not be his character. The fact remains that as a professional footballer he knows the consequences of his tackle, yet he done it anyway.

My only suggestion as a football fan - not a expert, is to maybe introduce a law where if a player goes into a challenge like that and breaks a players leg, he spends just as much time suspended without pay. What you do with that money is upto discussion, 50% to the victim, 50% to the clubs charity ? Imagine thinking im going to do him (trust me many people behave like this im afraid) then thinking hang on if i do this it will cost me £40k a week for 12 months ! Hitting a footballer with a ban is nothing, he may even go on holiday for a week, hitting him in his pocket for 12 months could cost him everything, just the same as it could cost a player like coleman his career.

That last line im confident wont be the case, you know why ? Because seamus would hobble onto the pitch with one leg to represent us, he would apply himself in the same manner he has since day one, with class and the spirit of a winner.

Get well soon Seamus. The Everton family are with you every step.

Those sort of things normally come out in the statement. Its all too little too late in my view. The damage has been done.
It will because he is psychological damaged by events, like the other times he has gone out to make a name for himself.
Wales will be waiting to respond depending on the injury and outcomes, so it won't be heartfelt.
My view has not changed from last night he lined himself up to take Seamus out.

...amazed if his fibia isn't gone as well. I also suspect it was a compound fracture. My initial thoughts were he might make the start of next season but it's sounding more severe than that.

This. Looked all the world like a tib/fib double break, the way the bottom half of his leg was pointing.

Depends now how clean it broke, has it splintered into fragments. Whether it's a compound fracture. Have nerves and blood vessels been damaged.

Absolutely gutted for the lad. I'd guess a year, barring complications.

Only just seeing that Bale tackle now. What an absolute disgrace that is. Another complete snide when things aren't going his way. The referee has got to be doing his job and getting a grip of the situation.

As for Neil Taylor do I think he deliberately went out to break Coleman's leg? No, but he definitely went in to leave one on him and I really hope there's more than a 3 match ban issued.

Not a cat's chance in hell he's only out for 5 months, that injury doesn't look like no simple fracture - look at the leg immediately after the challenge. Flopping in all directions.

It'll take 9-10 months at the absolute minimum before he's fit to play PL football again, realistically we won't see him again until 2018.

It was a double fracture- screws inserted this morning to help healing process. 6 month recovery minimum

Seamus Coleman suffered a double fracture of his right leg in last night's World Cup qualifier with Wales.

Coleman was due to be operated on this morning and will have screws inserted in his right leg to help the injury heal.

The Irish skipper is facing at least six months on the sidelines after sustaining the serious injury from a dreadful Neil Taylor challenge.

One thing that's beginning to irk me is people trying to excuse Taylor's actions as somehow out of character, a one off.
Taylor is and always has been a nasty little twit. He is a second rate yard dog with plenty of previous. At this moment ,and admittedly I'm still fuming, I'd love the opportunity to hound him out the game for good. Horrible bellend.
