Seamus Coleman

I'm no expert, but I reckon our Seamus is slightly out of position here...

If he's fit, think he'll be back in.

As others (Dave) have said, no point risking any burn-out. Sure he'll be fine and there's plenty of games to go around.
Hardly had any pre-season though as he was late back from the euros, and if I'm not mistaken he only started full training with the Irish squad a couple of days before the match. He surely can't be anywhere near match sharpness.

If we didn't have Holgate I'd probably be desperate enough to throw him straight in. However, how many times under Moyes and Martinez have we come unstuck by bringing established players back from injury too soon.

Holgate's done great in fairness and I'd stick with him until Seamus get's his fitness/sharpness levels up.

Fully agree with the posters who say he's still our number 1 RB, but we also need to see an improvement in the last 18 months or so, and I do expect that under Koeman's management. Isn't it fantastic to know that we now have Holgate waiting in the wings though.

Straight back in the side once fit. He's our best right back. Whether that's for Sunderland, I'm not sure.

Holgate has done well but as someone pointed out, his mistakes are overlooked because expectations are relatively low for a young player. He was late getting to Lamela for the Spurs goal and let 1-2 Stoke players get in behind him for great opportunities.

Spot on, Coleman would of been slaughtered for that Lamela goal.

Wouldn't object to him playing with Jags and Willaims in a 3 however with Coleman wing back.

Could rotate with Funes.

Coleman hasnt put in performances worthy of a top RB for over 2 years
