Seamus Coleman

Oh dear some one these comments, he was actually our best hope of a goal. 100% effort as usual. Can Benteke's goal not just go down as good attacking play

I don't think he was as bad as some are making out, I like Seamus and thought he was alright last night, the midfield was the problem, far too pedestrian.

Stop the cross the goal doesn't happen.
Blaming coleman is typical on here.
We seen Holgate doing worse against spurs. I suppose you criticised him too?

Yes I agree, he doesnt stop crosses coming in himself either.

If you will read only a few posts back I said I like Coleman but the defensive side of his game can be a worry. I didnt "blame" him for anything.

He wasnt tight enough on his man. It happens. Doesnt mean that it cant be mentioned either.

In Coleman's defense Benteke's goal was very well taken. 9 times out of 10 Benteke win that ball but not to the extent of the finish. Just snakebit again and dropping points at home is hard to stomach. Watching this morning game we just don't attack enmass like we should at Goodison. Until we do we will stay average.

Disappointed he didn't make more of an effort to test Kelly, a right back playing left back, by running at him. Only did it two or three times and looked like he could have gotten the better of him on a regular basis.

His positioning and attempt at challenging for Benteke's goal was shocking.

I'd say this is pretty much blaming him unless you're going to try and wordsmith your way out of it. There is no way he could put off Benteke.

I bet you would be upset with Lukaku if he'd been put off a header by a similar size fullback.

You implied he should have stopped the goal. Nothing more to say on it. This forum is a joke after we lose. Roll on the intl break . Get my own break from the whoppers on here

Oh wind your neck in!

I usually defend all kinds of players on here. I think he could have done better with the challenge on Benteke, he left him way too much space initially and couldn't recover on time.

No kicking off, no wanting to burn an effigy of him, just a simple comment that I personally thought he could have done better for the goal.

Is that OK with you?

Its got nothing to do with his size! It was his positioning.

I dont "blame" him for us not winning. I dont "blame" him for the goal as there are many factors in a goal being scored, we can close down the cross, keeper could do better, not lose the ball in the first place etc etc, but its a pretty basic thing to say that he could have been closer to his man when the ball came in.

Its basic stuff.

He could have done nothing other than undercut him and possibly give a penalty away to stop him getting that kind of contact. You may not see what you're saying as blame but all the words you're choosing to use suggest it.

I actually do blame Jags. Everyone knew he was going to be pulling onto the fullbacks looking for a diagonal and Jagielka either wasn't paying attention or mistakenly thought it wasn't a danger. Should have moved the line over to help cover.
