2017/18 Seamus Coleman

The unfortunate incident in losing Coleman for so long, has seen the emergence of Kenny as a right back who has held his own in the premier league. With every passing game he is getting better and better. There is no reason to rush Coleman back but when he is fully fit it will be a pity that Kenny will be on the bench or will probably go back to the U21s. This will not help his development as he needs to play regularly at a higher level than the U21s. Coleman is the better of the two, and I don't think it would be a good idea to try and shoehorn him back to a right sided midfielder, a right sided wing back maybe. Hope Kenny gets loaned out to a good championship team when Coleman comes back.
That would leave us with Martina as a right back though mate.

Which is counter productive

I think its good to finally have a problem of who to play. I suspect when Coleman is healthy he will start, but we also know that should his form suffer or anything of that nature, we have Kenny. Kenny could likely also pick up time at LB.

Regardless this season has been great for Kenny's development. If Coleman comes back fully fit and in good form we will have a tough decision as to whether to keep him as a backup next season or loan him out so he develops even further. Coleman is not as far along in age as Baines is, but he probably only has a couple more top class seasons after this one IF he fully recovers.

Speaking as someone in the health field, there are quite strict rules on information governance y’know mate - I’d tread very carefully, in case the wrong eyes see your post.

Not wrong ... my sister is an orthodontist and she had an Everton player come in. She told me she was seeing an Everton player but was unable to tell me who. This was back in bobby's days.. I told her that if the patient was black with blonde hair , she should remove some healthy teeth so he knew how I felt watching him play football.

Kenny has been great BUT he is no seamie! He offers much more goal/assist wise.

This is true, but Kenny has been developing well, now that the competitive side of the season is over its a good time for players like Kenny to play more, so while it would be great to see Coleman again I dont want to see Kenny benched, its an awkward one

I think they should both get a fair share of games. As you say the competitive element of our season is over, no harm in rotating them. Spurs rotated their fullbacks really well last season and having fresh legs in that position seems to be becoming ever more important in the modern game. If there's one positive about having nothing to play for it's that Seamus can really get up to speed when he eventually comes back with no pressure. Then we get to the summer and with Ireland not going to the World Cup he can really come back ready for pre-season.

seamus is bad with his back to the goal?
I give you exhibit B...

Seamus shouldn't be just put in straight away though like what he did with Bolasie, especially considering our season is over and Kenny has progressed tremendously this season.
