2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Listened to a pod today who said Baz off toffee TV said dyche wasn’t really that bothered about Ndaiye it was all Thelwell

That's not that surprising. Dyche tells Thelwell what he kind of player he wants, and Thelwell looks to bring in the best he can find with our budget. Ndiaye is a good forward thinking signing from Thelwell because he is a hard worker and will conform with Dyche's ways, but had the potential to play in more expansive styles when Dyche eventually goes.

I honestly think the only player Dyche pushed for personally was Young just for his versatility, availability and experience.

*Edit - he will have pushed for both Harrison loans as well

Yes Harrison and probably mangala due to wanting a bit more experience in midfield over Tim

Yeah good shout actually, but yeah basically frees and loans Dyche has more of a direct say. But whenever a transfer fee is involved, it's mainly Thelwell.

For all the poor management of the club over the years, I'm actually quite happy with this arrangement until new owners come in.

Toffee TV - will you get out of town!

Howl at the moon journalism, designed to trigger fans emotions for subscriptions.

They've been calling for his head for beards. just for content and drama, ultimately they are a couple of fans - prob on here - lot of cross over on content and talking points coincidently, i find. Alright lads! ;)

There is a few good pods around - the Echo one is actually quite good, Bobbles is good and The Blue Room. Toffee TV do a daily one, struggle for content, so whip everything up. Wouldn't be my cup of tea.

You get some terrible takes on the Blue Room, such as Irregbunum should be starting every game, Idrissa Gana Gueye shouldn't start etc... a lot of their stuff not directly related to the games is good though. Like the byline and that.

The American Toffee pod is one I'd recommend to anyone, really good analysis of the games and removed from the emotion of it all which is a welcome change of pace.

That Rob Vera guy is an absolute mouth breather.
Takes about 20 minutes to articulate an opinion, (they used to have to give him his own 'the long haul' podcast because he would churn on so much) usually absolutely mental and mostly about how the club should tell us what all the players had for tea. And if you don't agree with his opinion, you are WRONG

Fair point, the Blue Room can be a bit of hit and miss - there are a couple of points that are a bit out there by one or two of the guests on all of them - but actually enjoy a bit of that - one said The Duke and Idrissa should start Vs Ipswich and i was like - no way - so shows what i know. But personally find the Echo, Bobbles and Blue room the best most objective and thought provoking.

Haven't listened to The American Toffee - must do - thanks for the tip mate.

Find Toffee TV very talk sporty - but just for Everton fans - each to their own though, defo wouldn't be putting much stock in it as objective journalism personally. To be very fair id listen to it if John Blain is on - hes very good, but the rest, swerve

Thelwell’s not the manager last time I checked,
Thankfully he went over his head to buy this player who will be our player of the year, instead of wasting money on Phillips and trippier

Exactly, if Dyche didn’t like Ndiaye he wouldn’t be starting him almost every game would he. He’s got other options to pick from but he doesn’t he picks Ndiaye.

We’re almost in the realms of criticising the manager for a player playing well. Just have a day off for once.

Well he didn’t pick him for the first 2 games, very similar to the Branthwaite scenario from last season. Why would he leave a very good play out, just because he didn’t buy him. He better not an try get a job abroad after Everton,
Because that the model most clubs use.

Hes under pressure, he’s going to pick his best players, like Branthwaite will be back in as soon as he’s fit, him and DCL don’t see eye to eye, but he picks him every week

Yes can’t bare listening to him, Matt jones I don’t mind and Dave downie, one or two others who haven’t been on for a while, mark mosey I think he was called, spoke a lot of sense imo. Now Matt Jones works for the echo, he’s not quite as critical over dyche as he was. I can’t stand listening to that Ryan Williams, so I don’t listen to the American pod . I quite like toffee tv,
At least Ped and Baz have ambition and want Everton to get back to where they once were
