2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

No it’s not the answer. We finished 12th last season and haven’t weakened the squad at all in comparison to its peers. So I have still had no answer as to how we’ve gone from mid table to aiming for hopefully finishing above 3 teams if we’re lucky.
I didn't say that we're going to finish worse than 12th. I expect the same or better and we're 2 pts better off now than we were last season

I bet if you asked the manager directly he would scoff at the idea of finishing mid table. He likes to tell the media how we’re scrambling for our lives, and judging by the way we set up and play, he’s telling the players that too.

No it’s not, not one bit.

Italian teams, during the height of their dominance, were defensively orchestrated to be able to kill a game off. They did not hoof the ball 80 yards and have no attacking football

in fact, why I’m debating with someone who thinks Sean Dyche could be our Diego Simeone.

Thats pretty much what I alluded to. Italian top sides had superior players to ours.

Do you disagree that if we had an injection of four top players we would be superior defensively and offensively?

Yesterday was shocking.

But calling another poster "stupid" from suggesting that adding, (lets say) four £50mil players into our first 11 would not improve things...

...what would you call that?

How many people want "front foot" football?
It would improve the squad and maybe the results, but the style and set up wouldn’t change, you dychette’s are of your heads for thinking differently. There’s a reason this guy stayed at Burnley for 10yrs and then when he was a fee agent for 12 months he sat at home twiddling his thumbs. No top clubs or clubs with ambition went near him.

Don’t you think some brilliant football minds at these clubs didn’t think, why don’t we go and get that dyche and see what he can do with more money and better players? That’s because football, through agents and coaches, everyone would have known what he does on a day to day basis and that probably put clubs off, there’s no ambition to improve yourself or get better as a coach and involve, maybe step in to 2024.

Ye he loves finishing 17th. It's such a weird accusation to have about someone who has improved Evertons output and stopped the rot. Something you suggested another manager should get a statue for at Bramley Moore if they managed to do.

Been posing this question for weeks, and have yet to receive an answer other than bleating about net spend with no context and without taking into account the quality of player other teams around us lost over the summer compared to us.

You are correct. I suppose the counter would be, he inherited a squad that was very bad, and he hasn't had much to spend. How much credit he or Thelwell deserves is tricky.

We shouldn't be in a dogfight. That's reasonable, especially as he plays pragmatic football. In fairness, we are 5 points clear after 9 games, which is continues has us circa 20 points clear by season end. If that plays out, he has done his job. Even though it's a hard watch seeing him do it.

We’re on course to get 38 points. So we’d be relying on all of the teams below us maintaining their own dire form in order for us to be “well clear”. For me it’s not likely that the bottom 3 will end up as bad as last year’s bottom 3. So I think we have had a poor start and need to improve sharpish or he should be bulleted.
