Moyes is levels better than either of Allardyce or Dyche. And his football was a damn sight better than either of them.

“Get teams into Europe” 😂. Allardyce did it once, 20 years ago. Dyche did it once.

Moyes has done it several times with multiple clubs.

There’s a reason Moyes led the New Manager Poll.

Yeah Dyche did do it once. With Burnley. Incredible achievement. No manager has taken a smaller club in to European competition through league placing in the Premier League era. In fact, it's a close call for the entire history of European competition. Burnley are one of the smallest to ever achieve it from this league.

I'm judging size of the club by stadium btw. Less than 22,000 get in at Burnley, and I highly doubt their fans spend/pay as much as let's say a Fulham fan.

Edit: they might actually be the smallest of all time, as I'm judging QPR on the basis they hold 20k, but I'm guessing they held more back in them days.

There's even more reasons why we should swerve him

They spent a fortune under Allardyce so much so it nearly crippled the club when he left hence their decline.

Not entirely true. He built each season. Wasn't a case of just throwing money for the sake of it - 16th, 17th, top 10 finishes, League Cup final.

He left (with them chasing Europe again) cos the fans turned on his style, he got hit with bung allegations, and decided he was "underappreciated". He left in 2007 and they didn't get relegated until 2012. Megson and Coyle got them 14th.

Reading up on it, there was board upheaval and even under Sammy Lee they signed 12 players after Sam left.

So their decline wasn't due to Big Scam

It all went south for Newcastle too after they legged him. It was all part of the spiral. You could perhaps make the same argument here. Having 3 contracted managers and a caretaker in the space of August to August can rarely lead to anything good, imo. Especially when you then go through another 4 managers in rapid succession.

It's also gonna be hilarious if Nuno takes his Forest team higher than Spurs this season.

There's defo a theme...

Edit: West Ham are perhaps treading a similar path too.

There is an interview with 'Old Ashley' in th red echo. In it he openly admits that the game plan on Saturday was to give Fulham the ball and invite them to break us down and then to try to snatch a win from a solid base. That is a disgrace when a manager of Everton is the employing those tactics against the mighty Fulham at Goodison park. I credit him for keeping us up, but, his attitude to football is so limited. He really must not, under any circumstances, be manager after the end of this seasonal.

Aren't you guys bored about talking about a crap manager like Dyche?

Surely it's better to simply hope that as soon as TFG take control he gets booted.

I don't need to hope for that. I think it will happen regardless, unless he takes us in to the top half, but even then I think they'd boot him if and when he hit a hurdle. It's what new owners do.

I'm in no rush for us to be sacking managers mate. We've seen first hand the damage a revolving door can do. Dyche won't be here forever anyway.

I don't see that being particularly difficult tbh, Ange is massively overhyped by the media imo, Spurs should be doing better with the squad they have.

Ipswich Town got promotion to the premier league in the 1999-2000 and following season finished 5th in the Premier league securing in European place. Also got to the semi finals on the league cup that season.

Sadly in 2024 Fulham are better than us.

Yeah, remember it well. Great achievement. Bigger club than Burnley though. 30k they get in their stadium.

Mate, I used to work with a Bolton season ticket holder.

He hated and still hates Allardyce.

He left them in a financial mess, which nearly sunk them - player contracts and wages, that’s without all the allegations of bungs that were swirling around at the time.

Please don’t try and paint a picture of Allardyce as some kind of beacon of virtue.

He is what he is, a limited manager, with a questionable character.

Fulham went all the way to a Uefa Cup final in 2010 after a 7th place finish in the league. Bolton and Middlesboro went in the Uefa cup after finishing 6th and 7th in 2005 (the year we embarrassed ourselves by finishing 4th and getting knocked out of Europe at the first hurdle). Boro went all the way to the final and Bolton gave Atlectico Madrid a good scare in that year too.
