John from Bootle
Player Valuation: £15m
Just noticed Blackburn imploded never to be seen in these parts again after they booted Sam. They sacked him when they were 13th, his successor took them down the next season I think.

Fulham went all the way to a Uefa Cup final in 2010 after a 7th place finish in the league. Bolton and Middlesboro went in the Uefa cup after finishing 6th and 7th in 2005 (the year we embarrassed ourselves by finishing 4th and getting knocked out of Europe at the first hurdle). Boro went all the way to the final and Bolton gave Atlectico Madrid a good scare in that year too.
They are not so much better than us that our game plan, when playing them at home, is to sit back and let them have possession. They are hardly Manchester City or Arsenal. He did well to keep us up, but, his negative, backs to the wall tactics were unacceptable last Saturday. Roll on the end of his contract when he will surely be let go.Sadly in 2024 Fulham are better than us.
It all went south for Newcastle too after they legged him. It was all part of the spiral. You could perhaps make the same argument here. Having 3 contracted managers and a caretaker in the space of August to August can rarely lead to anything good, imo. Especially when you then go through another 4 managers in rapid succession.
It's also gonna be hilarious if Nuno takes his Forest team higher than Spurs this season.
There's defo a theme...
Edit: West Ham are perhaps treading a similar path too.
They are, youre just biased. We are a crap team now. They are not so much better than us that our game plan, when playing them at home, is to sit back and let them have possession. Yeah, again, Fulham are a bigger club than Burnley. 29k they get in their place. Wealthier fan-base too, who pay way more for tickets.
Boro and Bolton are bigger than Burnley too.
Do you just judge the size of a club by the capacity of their ground? Burnley Bolton and Fulham have all had spells down the leagues for the last 40 odd years, Burnley very nearly went out of the football league entirely at the end of the 80`s.Yeah, again, Fulham are a bigger club than Burnley. 29k they get in their place. Not sure what the right way to measure how big a football club is anyway. The way I see it there are the teams that get european football at the top, those that make up the mid table in the prem next, the teams that come up and down are below them, and all the rest follow on from there.
Well we're about to move into a bigger stadium than Chelsea but I don't consider us the bigger club so it's definitely a wank way to judge the size of a club.
Don't be ridiculous. How else do we compare the size of middle of the road clubs who have achieved very little?
Fan base is about the only metric you can use. Are Brighton bigger than Leeds? They might be having more success, and have more money at the moment, but only an idiot would claim they are a bigger club today. Why's that?
I never said Brighton were bigger than Leeds.
I never said you did. I used that question to make a point.
Fulham, Boro, Bolton and Ipswich are bigger clubs than Burnley. Don't care what metric you want to use, but my metric works just fine I reckon, considering the relative lack of achievements from all of them in the modern era.
But if we go by your metric, Leeds are bigger than Brighton, and if we go by my metric (historic success etc.) then Leeds are bigger than Brighton. So no idea why you brought that one up.
What makes Fulham a bigger club than Burnley? At the time of their Euro final, their stadium was only about 3-4k larger than Turf Moor. If you're gonna use that tiny difference as some gold star for Dyche your collapse into insanity is getting worse than I thought.
