2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

He's dead to me if he can't win against Southampton we haven't had a really challenging run so far and after west ham the difficulty of the matches at least on paper ascends quickly. Stop the ultra negative stuff and at least set your team up to attack a little ya ginger jabroni
We've had 16 games away against bottom half sides under Dyche and have only had 2 defeats. Why do people act like it happens all the time when we're going away to these sides? As if this is the last straw or something.. Pre Dyche the record was 9 defeats in 13 away games

Because we've only won 6 or 7 games in 2024

Jabroni is a great insult, deserves more numbers

Imho doing the job despite his clear and obvious limitations. Keeping us up with a threadbare squad of championship level players and a points deduction is commendable and a vindication of his approach: keep it tight at the back, play direct and be good at set pieces.

However powers that be have slowly worked to improve the overall quality of the first team, if not the depth, so his approach should and will come under scrutiny this year. Has to get more out of our more attacking players or it's curtains, and we have to improve on last year's league position (i.e. top half position) or he is in jeopardy.

If we finish top ten and don't look competent doing so, then I think we have to part ways. There is an alternative; we finish top ten and look a threat doing so, in which case I can see another 12 months of Dyche ball.

I for one am sanguine about the whole affair and a realist: whoever precedes him (if we remain a premiership team) will be indebted.

Some people forget the mess he took over, and in some respects still presides over. Could name numerous players still in the squad who aren't worthy of a top tier contract and he continues to get the most out of them, with no signs of mutiny.

This will be a real Everton that game tomorrow. They haven't won in 22 prem games, we haven't won 2 away games there in a row since 92.

Wow 30 odd years ago and i can still remember being there. The days when peter beardsley stuck out like a sore thumb in an Everton side.
The away end there was something like a cage from the hunger games but i still prefer it to today.
Loved away days back then.

No doubt If he wins it’ll be expected and he still won’t get any credit. I don’t want him either but he deserves credit for some results as much as slating for others.

Can't see this top ten thing. Hope I'm wrong.

Given the job he inherited, he’s produced some remarkable results. Opinions don’t need to be binary. I acknowledge he is largely responsible for keeping us in the league when the odds have been stacked against us. I also believe he is overly negative at times and his tactics/team selections are often overly negative. He also causes massive problems for himself with some of his interview and press conference comments. I think he thrives on playing to his persona of being grumpy and obtuse.
I don’t think he’ll be our manager at the start of next season, but I think he’ll be remembered more favourably than Allardyce, Benitez and Koeman.

No one is defending Dyche.

I don’t even want Dyche as our manager post this season. There is loads to criticise him on as a manager without having to have your head fall over his choice of words in a press conference.

People in this forum can’t get their head around the fact that you hold two opinions at one time. You can accept Dyche’s limitations as a manger and not feel the need to criticise everything he does. People will be moaning about the colour of his socks next.

What!? Sean Dyche wears socks?

I’m as fickle as the next fan. I’ve lauded Dyche for some great results and wanted to poke my eyeballs out watching us when it’s bad. We’re an infuriating team to watch. I don’t think our long term future is with Dyche but it is what it is for now. So yeah I both despise and love him depending on how we do that particular match day!
