2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

So simply avoiding the fact that:

a) Jack Harrison has never been played in the position that was his most strongest at Leeds, because in doing so it would be mean dislodging players that he loves, regardless of the negative impact they were having on the team

b) Beto has neither developed or a system been found that suits him and or Dom on the pitching at the same time

Just push those issues, the basics of a football manager and coaching team, to one side and focus on net spend because that’s an easier option

If we had a full back capable of overlapping/offering anything on the left then yeah I'd agree with you on Harrison. We dont so Harrison becomes a water carrier off the ball.

NDiayes game suffers because of the same reason which is why I'd rather NDiaye was number 10. [Edit] but then to be fair McNeil has been doing well there.

Beto is a recruitment failing. Again, only here because 0 upfront. He needs to play on the shoulder and we've not got the pace/ability from wide or even ability in the middle of the park in the likes of Doucoure to thread them balls through.

Well then there’s an issue between the Director of Football and the manager

Who gets canned??
Either or both, whatever’s best for the club. I’m not here telling you dyche is a genius and you’re wrong to criticism him, I’m just saying I don’t really agree that the squad this year is better than the one last year. It’s different, but I just can’t accept that it’s significantly improved. That’s by the by in some ways, we have to get results with what we’ve got and we aren’t at the moment, that’s the important thing.

In all honesty, I’d like the manager to try and find a system that suits the players at his disposal

Rather than being adamant on a system to the detriment of the players

That's a fair opinion. I can't argue with that.

What I will say though, is that we knew his MO. He likes to play the percentages, and chooses a style and system that he thinks will grind out points over the course of the season.

I understand it's not for everybody, but I personally have no problem with it until there's some serious investment and a proper overhaul of this squad. 2 new full backs, a deep lying midfielder with a good passing range, another winger or 2 and at least one new striker would be a good start.

That’s unfair. He’s put McNeil and even the abysmal Harrison behind the striker but hasn’t given a single minute there for Ndiaye or Lindstrom who both excel in that position. He’s a genius
True, true

And when McNeil is flagging and the 75 minute mark hits. Be sure to take off a flying Ndiaye, force a tiring McNeil on the flanks (favourites n’all) and throw away a 2 goal lead

Genius

Fair enough.

I have no issue whatsoever, and I’ve said this on numerous occasions, on him doing that away from home

At home, it’s totally unacceptable

Harrison in the 10 position was magnificent, he was immediately anonymous and offered even less than when he’s wide. It was almost like he was completely unsuited to the role.

Do not want to blow your mind; but you do know that Mykolenko at both club and country level at Ukraine used to bomb forward, and for Ukraine still does

The manager wants to maintain a flat back 4 to ensure defensive stability

Again, he’s been here for a full year yet the manager does not think to try and change how we approach the game or a specific tactic when he’s on the pitch

Same approach, same same same

There's a reason Mykolenko hasn't recorded a single Premier League assist in nearly 90 odd games.

A few weeks before Dyche rocked up you held the same view I have now.

That ultimately, the players aren't good enough and how our final third can't score enough goals.

7 in 32? wow
i did not think it was that bad?

il get him sacked myself

i’ve just been sick in my mouth

I was genuinely shocked to read that up. 7 wins 11 draws, 14 losses. Since and including Spurs at Christmas. But I knew it was an average slightly over 1 at max.

Given he had 47 points in his first 36 games that's a big regress.

This is where the percentages come in. Could he get forward more? Of course, but is it worth leaving yourself exposed when there's gonna be very little end product? You don't ask a full back to attack all season just because they might get 1 or 2 assists.

Exactly.

Dyche improved his game by telling him to just concentrate on defending. He does that and you tend to get your 6/10 performance.

Ask him to cross the half way line and he goes to pot.

We need full backs who can give us something going forward. I don't think we have that.

I notice you specifically said Premier League assist, given he’s assisted for Everton this season
