2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I think having a very good centre half in the team like JB, especially being a left sided player, means we can play differently. He doesn't need the same level of protection.

I want to see us adapt and show different ways of playing. That's absolutely reasonable in my after 21 months in charge and a very different squad to back in 2022.

It shouldn't be ultra defensive, long ball, park the bus football every weekend.
All day this, especially when his turgid plan A-Z is clearly not working.

He could try a 3-4-3 with 3cbs.

Maybe 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 even.

Change it during a game as well ffs.

We have options, he’s not bothering with them.

Nuts & bolts, smelling goals, feel the game, getting on the crass, swear on the shirt......not winning enough games

That's all I hear but the result is just not winning enough games, if he's going to play such bad football he needs to win more to get away with it

And again, this team proved they can play decent ball in certain amount of games this season, Bournemouth was the best example.

I think he was the right man for the right moment last season, to finish basically mid table before the deductions was a good steadying job after the near miss under Lampard.

It’s been woeful though this season. The football is appalling, it’s so negative and some of his selection decisions have been odd at best.

I honestly don’t think he’d be getting anywhere near the same amount of flak if we’d of not thrown away victories against Bournemouth and Villa in such horrific fashion.

Well, the point is we could count how many top flight goals/assists are in the team now.

As you did back then weeks before Dyche come in to defend Lampard.

The answer is not enough.

I actually think we had a better attack prior to Dyche being here. Just off top of my head;

Richarlison, Gordon, Iwobi, Gray, McNeil, Danjuma, Maupay, Calvert-Lewin

At least there's some pace, creativity there. Not so sure we have that now.

Harrison, McNeil, Lindstrom, NDiaye, Beto, Calvert-Lewin
Ok, no worries.

The post you quoted was from January 2023 when we our attacking options were Maupay, Gray, Iwobi and Gordon.

For some clarification, because I know you’ll moan and cry, these figures don’t include lower leagues (the danish keague, 2nd division leagues etc), cup games (unless Europe)

Lindstrom
5349 total minutes; goal contribution every 213 minutes

Ndiaye
3151 total minutes; goal contribution every 286 mins

Harrison
11076 mins total minutes; goal contribution every 266 mins

Beto
7810 total minutes; goal contribution every 185 mins

In comparison
Iwobi
19175 mins; contribution every 299mins

Gray
11103 mins; contribution every 308 minutes

Maupay
12501 mins; contribution every 233 minutes

Gordon
5244 mins; contribution every 374 mins

So yeah mate, I think we have improved the players
