2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I think results for years - 2 managers before Dyche have demonstrated we do have a team that's around the bottom.

You speak to neutrals, or even look at bookies odds before a ball is kicked and we're 4th favourite to go down

Yes we fundamentally disagree. When in bold.

Last season's finish should have been a pathway to progress. It's weird we can't make a leap upwards when other clubs like Forest, Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham, can.

On a wider scale, it irks me we plod along as bottom feeders with low aspirations while the likes of Fulham, West Ham, Newcastle, Villa, Brentford and now Forest, make a mockery of where we portray where we are. Hey ho. 🤷‍♂️

They've all spent a lot of money mate. The likes of Bournemouth were lashing £100m+ in one window.

Hence the question really. If a new manager replaces Dyche tomorrow. In 21 months time, if every window we have to make a profit and Moshiri is still an absent owner - would you expect us to be any better than we are now? Would you think we should be any better than 13th-17th?

Exactly. The club and Dyche shouldve automatically moved the goalpost for the following season. If we aim for not relegation and get 12th(without deduction) this seasons goal should be to get that or BETTER. There is no reason to think we would do worse this season than last, unless you think Onana was out best player. We improved the squad, yet the resaults are almost identical. Thats on the managers tactics. You cant keep playing for draws and hoping for a win. If we dont try to win games, we will not improve. There is a ‘but we’re relegation fodder’-mentality coming from the manager and club now thats absolutely toxic and manipulative.

Exactly. Hence the point distressed seller.

Not Dyches fault is it?

There's making a profit and there's making a profit. It's not like it was pure profit on Onana. He's in that period twice, in fact we still owed circa £20 million for buying him when we sold him.

It's great if you can sell a player and replace him like for like with a cheaper option who might prove to be a bargain. Different kettle of fish when you've got 4, 5, however many, holes to fill in the squad. 5 players cost a lot of wages.

We had a really good run from April last season which perhaps skewed.

We sat in 16th then.

I know, i'm fighting a losing battle.

But i'll reiterate my point one last time and then I'm going to watch the kettle boil.

For what we are now, as a team, we should be doing much better than the results we're getting. I am putting that down to Dyche that we are not. If a new manager replaces Dyche tomorrow, they'll get better from this set of players. (Maybe apart from Lampard).
