2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I know, i'm fighting a losing battle.

But i'll reiterate my point one last time and then I'm going to watch the kettle boil.

For what we are now, as a team, we should be doing much better than the results we're getting. I am putting that down to Dyche that we are not. If a new manager replaces Dyche tomorrow, they'll get better from this set of players. (Maybe apart from Lampard).
Yeah but mate, net spend….

Exactly. The club and Dyche shouldve automatically moved the goalpost for the following season. If we aim for not relegation and get 12th(without deduction) this seasons goal should be to get that or BETTER. There is no reason to think we would do worse this season than last, unless you think Onana was out best player. We improved the squad, yet the resaults are almost identical. Thats on the managers tactics. You cant keep playing for draws and hoping for a win. If we dont try to win games, we will not improve. There is a ‘but we’re relegation fodder’-mentality coming from the manager and club now thats absolutely toxic and manipulative.
Thats just not how it works though is it? I’m sure the aim is to get better but it’s just incredibly simplistic to say we finished 12th last year so that’s the minimum baseline for this year. If we’d gone and spent a load of money then yes of course but you can’t just shuffle the pack a bit like we did and say right go out and pull another rabbit out of the hat. It’s like people have forgotten the absolutely shambolic way the club has been operating and thought a magic wand has been waved because we didn’t get relegated.

Finished 15th on 40 points last season which would have been about 12th if you add the deducted points back in, plus take into account that heads went down big style after each point deduction which definitely had a negative effect. So yeah 12th with everything that went against them. An acceptable finish and a decent job by Dyche.

Then we had a summer window where we only lost one player of significance (Onana) who was a bit hit and miss over all and actually strengthened the team by bringing in a few players, some maybe of questionable or unknown quality but one in particular ended up being very good. So unquestionably strengthened from the previous season.

And here we are 11 games into the season, no point deductions, a mostly favourable run of games and we have won 2 out of 11 and are sitting in 16th position. Meanwhile we have a small number of blues telling everyone else that we haven't gone backwards and its not Dyche's fault as the team is crap and is where it should be.

What a load of complete and utter bollox. The team is capable of more and the Manager has been poor and needs to do a lot better or get gone.

Let’s see how the footballing world view the job he’s done here; I’m sure he’ll be offered a vast amount of jobs when he leaves us
He will get offered plenty of jobs, In reality he moved a team lurking around relegation up the league. I can’t stand him for many reasons but if he was a foreign manager our fans would have a much different attitude towards him. The sooner he is gone the better but I am not expecting a massive improvement n the short term when he’s gone.

He didn’t get any when he left Burnley.

But I guess we’ll see what he’s offered
