2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Absolutely none of them did that I asked and I know loads of them, my best mate is a season ticket holder. The consensus was that the big teams got all the decisions, the games were mostly spoilt by var and the tv coverage was 50 minutes on their opponents and five minutes on them. To a supporter they all said the championship was much more enjoyable (figures as they were actually winning before they got promoted)

Well then they can enjoy another season down there then after trying to win every game and finishing on 26 points whilst we stayed in the premier league earning 48 points despite apparently having a manager who plays not to win.

People still banging on about that run.

It happens.

It happened just before Dyche come when Everton went the longest in England without winning a game. Relegation fodder. It was even worse the year before that when we were like bottom 5 across English professional football for points in the calendar year.

We also had some good runs last season.

The headline is his team earned 48 points last season - a significant improvement on the seasons before that.

As for people twisting reality over transfer spends. Behave. We're the only Prem team for 3 summers on the spin to make a profit. Anyone we signed in that period had to come in after sales, and often from a shortlist of £0 upfront.

They're utter bulbs then mate. As is anyone who believes style over substance. They went down on 26 points - cry arsing about refs or VAR? Haha.

And to be honest, who cares what Luton or their fans think?

New reason it's not Dyche's fault just dropped. Its the payment structure we used to purchase players fault we're underperforming.

I love this thread. I hope Dyche gets a lifetime appointment for no other reason than to keep this thread alive in perpetuity.

Don’t worry, I’ll be setting up a Dychewatch thread for when he leaves so we can keep an eye on his career exploits at whichever level of the pyramid he eventually lands at in the years that follow.

You know if you try to win and lose a load of games, it’s still losing? I’m sure Luton fans would have preferred premier league football over the championship but I’m sure they’ll console themselves with how much they tried to win.
You know if you don’t try to win many games you tend not to win many games

Sean Dyche and his 400 top flight games are testament to this fact.

But yes, comparing a team that was in the third division 7 years ago, still had members of that squad playing last year, and spent the grand total of £20m to stay in the Premier League is a really good argument mate

they still managed to take 4 points off us and knock us out the cup like and score 12 more goals than us

The worst winless run in the clubs entire history? How dare people go on about it, it’s outrageous!

Yes “it happens”, just the once in 150 years and with this negative helmet in charge.

Do you think Moise Kean would have made it into a Sean Dyche team if he wasn’t forced to sell him

You don't think our ability or lack of to pay up front effects the quality of player we can buy, no?

Aye, it happens.

Just like this weeks before Dyche come in;

^ After that tweet, it went on even longer - we got beat to Southampton (H) and West Ham (A) before Dyche come in.

Ultimately, we finished on 48 points.

A massive improvement on the seasons before that.

Sure, the run was disappointing, but just as well a season is 38 games. In those 38 games, we also had some good runs;

Narrator: But Everton were moved. Downward.

And this late on;

So player quality and transfer funds are a thing when you want them to be but not when assessing Everton managers. How convenient for you.

Thelwell should be taking some blame. Spent decent money on big flops, also loaning a Championship player for two seasons is never a good sign.
I know he had to wheel and deal on future payments but it doesn’t excuse the money spent on flops.
