2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

For me, he's been much more consistent under this manager. Sometimes, that's about all the improvement you're gonna get.

Dwight wasn't getting a game under Frank, Demarai Gray was, who many have told me isn't an upgrade on McNeil recently.

Doucoure was training with the kids. He managed to get more out of Godfrey. I've mentioned the others I've thought have done better than under previous managers.

You could question whether he's got the most out of DCL, and some people want to see Patterson, but he's just no good imo. Is he getting the most out of Harrison? Probably not, as we've seen him do better, but I don't see a whole host of players he's taken backwards.

We’ll see what happens with these same players when the next manager comes in is all I’ll say.

So you think he's doing a good job then and should get a new contract?

If we left this fella in charge until the 20th game I can guarantee you we would not have 15 points.

Sorry if I don’t put much weight in your power of predictions after you called Everton to go down and said Burnley would be a mid table club this season under Kompany ‘bookmark this’

You simply don’t know, no one does, bit just hysterically catastrophising and then proclaiming it as a fact or a guarantee is ridiculous.

is it the exact same points per game? No
Is it relegation battle to relegation battle yes. According to Dyche himself
That is not improvement after two years
That is one very low bar you have there, and frankly a bit pedantic in the debate

You’re basing a whole debate on your seemingly unquestionable assertion that 12 games equals a relegation battle, we weren’t in one last season apart from the points deduction. We’ve started poorly this season but still have a higher ppg at the moment than when he took over.

Somehow me pointing out that what you claim are facts are not actually facts makes me a pedant?

You’re right. Let’s talk straight up current day facts.

We have 11 points after 12 games from the easiest fixture list in the league.

How can anyone keep making excuses for this fella.

He took over with us looking disjointed, low on confidence and in a relegation battle

22 months later we look disjointed low on confidence and are in a relegation battle.

Is there anything he has improved?

An half decent managers keeps you out of danger for most of the season
A decent or good manager keeps you floating around 11th-13th position
Every manager should improve the team from where he took over, he hasnt.

Give this squad of players to 19 current PL managers and move away from where we are.

Let’s see how this goes until the fans in the stadium who haven’t been gaslit by 30 years of “knife to a gunfight” start getting toxic once we get pumped five games in a row over December.

Beyond untenable for Dyche to stay. It’s a results business and failing to score from 27 shots against a ten man team along with losing late goals and games where we have been two up this season is not good enough.
Sorry to pull you up on this mate but I’ve let too many of them slide now. Gaslighting actually means something, you can’t just use it in random situations where it doesn’t fit. Telling us we’re crap when we are crap is not gaslighting.

Fair enough. Which players will we see really kick on then, in your opinion?

Well I think we’ll benefit massively from Ndiaye playing as a forward and not an auxiliary full back for a start.

I also think Lindstrom will benefit from playing in his natural position, maybe even Harrison who never played as a right winger at any point before this manager put him there.

I think there’s a good chance Patterson will be used more over the manager’s 40 year old geriatric best mate, and actually given a chance to prove whether he’s good enough or not (he is better than Young and Coleman)

I think Tim Iroegbunam will shine in a system that incorporates some ideas from the 21st century. Lad looks a baller, think he will almost certainly be used ahead of *checks team sheets* Abdoulaye Doucoure.

I reckon we’re more likely to see development from O’Brien particularly if the manager is tactically flexible and likes to use a back 3 formation from time to time.

But apart from all that, not a lot really.

I am basing it on what Dyche himself says about it. He himself does not see us as anything other than relegation fodder. That's it! If that is what you want then fine, that's your choice, but that is what we get with Dyche and there is nothing to argue about it. Either you are happy with that or you are not. Comparing slight differences in ppg is pedantic when the actual manager himself sees us as unimproved.

So do you want Dyche to stay or are you just a contrarian? Do you think he can do better and should be given a chance or are you just happy with perennial relegation battles?

Otherwise we are going round in circles.

Haha see my below post

The manager telling us we’re crap and it’s got nothing to do with him is actually gaslighting tbh.
