2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I said squad is capable of 9th to 12th. Considering we finished 12th last year and were 1 point off 10th.

You ignore context after having a go at others for doing so.

Others also said at that time that 10th/11th would also be achievable. So don’t act like I’m the only one that thinks mid table should have been reasonable target.

How many points do you realistically think we actually get from the next 8 games?
8 more points (Southampton, Bournemouth & Brentford) would have us in 9th right now, on the same amount of points as Spurs, Villa & Forest.
Would getting maximum points from those 3 fixtures of been unrealistic?

Apparently so mate. We shouldn’t expect to get points against anyone. Been told on here that even fans of the likes of Man City and Liverpool don’t ‘expect’ to beat anyone.

I can cut through some of this drivel by reminding you that Koeman got us back into Europe in his first season.

We were in the bottom 3 when he left the season after, but we would not have gone down. The same thing happened to him at Southampton and they ended up top half after a bad start.

We suffered as we brought too many new players in that summer and lost Lukaku.

Koeman went on to manage Barca and Netherlands. Sean Dyche will end up at Clitheroe.
What exactly has Clitheroe done to deserve this?

That was in a discussion about the relative quality of this squad. If you seriously this squad could be the 9th best in the league quality wise then there’s just no point debating anything.

I’m going to be flying over to see our new stadium at some point next season…

I will do it regardless but flying from Brisbane I’d like dyache to be gone by then, be in the prem and have some players that actually can pass a footy in the opponents half
Honestly mate it’s not worth it. Like the City and experience is but the football is utterly crap.

Are we really claiming he's been worse than Koeman?

Really?

Bolasie - 28 million

Rooney - 11 million

Williams - 12 million

Gylfi - 45 million

Keane - 27 million

Klassen - 25 million

Martina - free

Sandro - Free

On top of Pickford, Gueye, Lookman, and Vlasic.

Imagine spending all that, on that list of players, and then 'solving' your full back issues with bargain bucket Martina

What an absolute clown. We've still not recovered from his disastrous splurge.

If Koeman signed them then are you also admitting Dyche signed Beto and Danjuma etc.?

He not a great maanger, he got Southampton to 6th and Europe. Surely that counts for something as dyche getting Burnley to 7th one season is hailed as a miracle

It's always difficult to say exactly who signed who. What I will say though, is that as the manager, I will always apportion some of the responsibility to them. It's about the only way you can do it, or you end up with them having no responsibility or all of it.

Dyche has to take some responsibility for the signing of Beto, it happened on his watch. I like Beto though, I think he needs to drop Dom for him. I know he's not perfect and I know we overpaid, but we also know why we overpaid.

And if Koeman's worst signing was akin to Beto (we'll adjust for inflation and say £25m) then he'd have done a lot better than he did.

Don’t you think the manager should maybe work on different style of play if he is to play Beto

Lumping a ball 60 yards to a striker who couldn’t trap a bag of sand is hardly making best use of the resource

But then again, that would require some form of coaching with the ball in training. And we all know how that goes

Yes, relative quality of squad, which was a squad good enough to finish 12th, 1 point off 10th just 3 months earlier and has by most peoples agreement (including yours) been slightly improved over the summer.

If we are just going to compare squads on paper, then there’s zero point being in a league structure. As we literally had the 12th best squad last season, and were very close (1 point) to having the 10th best.

There isn’t any point with you as you just ignore anything you get asked.

How many points do you realistically think we get in the next 8 games?
