2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Why, in the last 5 years brightons net spend is positive £30m

So basically they’ve established themselves, traded players to earn money, and now they’ve internally decided that they’re ready for the next step, so they’ve spent.

They’ll still continue to find gems from all around the world, develop them and sell them for large prices but they’ll more than likely reinvest larger sums into key areas
Because we haven’t done anything that they’ve done?!

I wish we were Brighton. We aren’t lads?!

We’ve wasted our money, we’re on the bones of our arse - how is there a comparison? They’ve spent well because they recruited well and sold well. We have done none of those things.

That’s not on Dyche at all gents like it or not. I hope he gets fired out of a cannon before the derby but that doesn’t make him responsible for 6 years of woeful player trading.

@blueboy72 - how can you compare us against any of these well ran clubs?

Are you insinuating that any of the last three managers are responsible for our abysmal recruitment?

So you only use the summer’s when these teams have Spent money to suit your argument. How convenient.

Why can’t I use Brighton ? in the space of a year lost Sanchez, Bissouma, Trossard, Mac-Allister, Cucurella, caicedo. More than half their main 11. For 285mil if you include add ons it’s another 40mil potentially.

Anyway look at my likes and yours. Go and educate yourself and come back in 6 months, off you pop
“look at my likes” 🤣🤣🤣 stick to tiktok lad.

Because they've systematically recruited talent, had a good enough squad to get them through the season and have banked all of that patience into stunningly high sales of good players and re-invested in the squad.

We've had a ponzi scheme plow 200 million into the club because our oligarch was sanctioned, and employ the oldest collection of RBs ever known just so we can finish 17th.

It starts and ends at the top.

That's the cringiest thing I've ever read on here.

This is the point I’m making, I dunno what their argument is meant to be?!

“Look at Brighton!”

Yeah, polar opposite of us - what’s the point here?!

Can’t even vaguely compare our recruitment/strategy. I’d love us to be half as capable as they are in the transfer market. We haven’t been - hence why we signed a 39 year old to back up a 35 year old at right back.

Are people forgetting we’ve had actually day-to-day OpEx cash flow issues because of how badly we are doing financially?

So it’s not about spend as you originally stated and more to do with recruitment

People blaming Dyche for us not being Brighton is hilarious to me.

... Dyche come in and we've had to make money every season, from a squad that was sat in 19th going into February.

We've discussed Potter to death, who spent £100m to take them from 40 points, to 41, to 41 again. He was being booed by Brighton fans in his final season when he finished 3 points above our tally last season. He'd have been hung from the main stand before them 3 years were up if he was at Everton. Totally different.

Potter was a symptom of Brighton being a very well ran club. No coincidence Brighton have kicked on after he left, and Potter hasn't had a job in over 2 years.

Just like Dyche is a symptom of Everton.

People put way too much on a manager.

Everton's biggest problem and cause of our situation is entirely created by Moshiri and the rot was well set in, and we were long circling the drain before Dyche.

No if you read back, I mentioned Brighton are the absolute pinnacle, pin-up for that time of model.

Wolves/Leicester/Southampton show the difficulties with that model.

There’s plenty more sides above us with a positive net spend than a negative net spend, that’s a simple fact.

I would absolutely love us to be a Brighton type model, our recruitment is my biggest gripe with the Moshiri years. Had a real chance to establish ourselves and safeguard the club for years to come with the amount spent. Sadly 95% of it was on absolute [Poor language removed].

Mate, with respect, if it wasn't for Dyche we'd have sold *checks notes....* players for £250m+, we wouldn't have had PSR issues that existed before him, which would have allowed us to spend a few hundred million to transform the team.....
