2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I was thinking that the only way he holds on to the job (assuming the Friedkins have been too preoccupied with Roma's crisis to line up a replacement) is another derby win.

Be hard to bullet him then...

It would be simple.

You don't pay for past results, you pay for future results.

They're plopping down quite a bit of money to be preoccupied with something else.

Yeah, logically that should be the reality.

But there's a part of me that would find it very funny if he did win the derby and the Friedkins took over the following week...

I'd expect the new owners to make something of a statement when they take over. But hopefully they are doing that from a league position of strength, not desperate necessity.

This is the ideal scenario, as many points as possible before the takeover, then the owners can do what they want and splash some money in January on some attackers and midfielders to back whoever they want as manager.

Absolutely. Andy why would any of us who are convinced we know what's what knee-jerk back to pro-Dyche purely on the back of a key win or two.

We wouldn't.

He's finished - and rightly so. But it would be lovely if he could go out on a high and at least put it up to the Friedkins to ensure they get a proper upgrade.

He also has the record for managing the first team to stay up with 2 pts deductions, first Merseyside derby win at home in 12 years, and I'm pretty sure at the end of last season he had one of the best consecutive home win runs for us in a good while.
So individual victories are seen as a record now, wow how far we’ve fallen, you do realise you only get 3 points. You’ve forget to say first time we’ve beaten wolves at home in 4 years, first time weve got a 96th minute goal v Fulham

but we did concede 4 against United, so we weren’t starting from where we were 2 games ago, it’s a boost from where we were before the game started, and it’s put 4 in the against column for Wolves.
Changed your tune pronto there mate, I’m embarrassed for you. Dyche has a stay of execution, thankfully wolves were dreadful at set pieces.

Our 2nd leading goal scorers are all tied on 2 goals...two centerbacks amongst them, Keane and Craig Dawson.

It's great to get the three points, but this match was peak Dyche. All set pieces. It won't last and no one, including the new owners, will think it will last.

No, it definitely won't last. We'll take it, but this won't be moving the needle.

It shouldn’t be, what has last seasons victory over them done. They’re the only top team we’ve beaten in a year. All the other 7 victories have come against bottom sides
