2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

It will be to pay his contract, the backroom staff, and his rumoured 'firing clause' that bobble seems convinced he's got in his contract.
Yeah, there’s no way he has that clause regardless of what any ITK says, we were desperate but we also recruited a manager who was desparate to get back into a PL club. It just doesn’t make sense. The 9m for him and his back room makes sense.

Not sure what the pout you’re making is. The goal difference took a dent v United, so it’s good to get some goals back, even better that it’s against a bottom half rival no?
I don’t pout mate. Always good to get a win, theyve been so scarce at Goodison and especially under this manager and with his idea of football. Lucky for us Wolves have a midfielder as a centreback and are absolutely dreadful at defending set pieces. We conceded 4 against united last game, we scored 4 today… so 2 games ago we had the same goal difference, hardly a “boost” as you put it.

Done well with moving McNeil back.

Definitely worked on set-pieces which needed to be better all season.

I thought the subs came too late but at least he used his bench correctly.

We are definitely a better team than our league position states.

The clause would make no sense as surely it incentivises him to get sacked in his last season?

Say he’s on £100k a week he can earn about £2.5m doing a good job vs £7.5m getting sacked and picking up a £5m bonus.

That result to me only further backs up how much he's been underachieving the past couple of months. We are clearly miles better than the likes of Wolves, Ipswich, Southampton and Leicester, yet we're stuck down there with them in yet another stressful relegation battle because he's been managing so poorly.

Tonight was a huge relief but it's only one result. If we pick up another 2-3 points this month, somehow, that likely will be enough to keep us above the bottom 3 for the entirety. And if we can get to New Year with breathing space, then surely we'll be alright the second of the season. 20+ by the end of Jan and you'll likely be safe as houses.
