2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Nice to see you on here the day after a game 👍

Pretty sure I was on here on Monday, you know, the day after the United game. That was the exception to the rule though. Probably because the next game was so close. Not really arsed tbh. You won't often see me on here the day after a defeat under any manager. I'm not here to play games.

Is this not a case for Dyche also? Albeit a different style? He just wont look to move from the one way he knows
That's not quite the same as what he's talking about though. What Dyche and Allardyce do is - theoretically at least - diametrically opposed to what Kompany did and Martin is doing. The argument being put forward is that Kompany and Martin are putting style over substance, whereas what the other 2 do would be the exact opposite. Obviously that only works for as long there actually is substance and that has been questionable here this season, but the 2 things aren't really the same at all.

It's belief packaged as style though. They believe in a certain way to play and stick to it. Same with Dyche. Dyche has a style too, it's just way out of style.

Something radical here for the thread

Last night was a good and much needed result.

I wouldn't be surprised if Friedkin will come in and change the manager even if we win the derby on Saturday. And I wouldn't be outraged, just hoping they invest in the squad.

Russel Martin has played the same way at every team he has managed and it usually works for him it just takes time for it to all gel. Tbf too him he has had the likes of Luton and MK Dons playing some decent stuff before considering they were down the leagues but it always takes time with him.

In fairness to the likes of Dyche and Kompany, they came up to the PL playing a certain way and had recruited players based on that style, presumably with buy-in on that strategy from their club hierarchies - I know Saints in particular have had a club strategy of playing that type of football, which is why they've recruited backroom staff members from City. Not easy to completely tear that up upon arrival in the prem and play a completely different style.
Just thinking some more about this and contrasting the above two clubs with Brighton, who came up from the Championship playing more physical long-ball football under Hughton and then evolved to where they are now via Potter. Probably the more effective way to go about things. Wouldn't surprise me if that was a conscious strategy on their part.

I've lost track of who wasted the most cash on the worst players before Dyche. I do know that Koeman, Martinez, Lamps, Benitez and prob Silva had us bang on for relegation having wasted MILLIONS £££. I've never felt more at sea watching people like Gyllfi, SNadro and other complete c&&&ts strolling around GP. Look at the deals done for tosh like Dele ALli.

Sean's on track for a hat-trick of relegation escapes with a frankenstein of a squad.

Thanks Sean.

P.S. I'm not at the ground fortnightly like some and admit out our football isn't 'free flowing'. Sean doesn't hide his style, values or targets on the pitch. It's just he believes that being int he Prem is better than NOT being in the Prem.

Would 777 have failed a Championship Director's test? Let that settle in. THe NEw Ground in administration before it's built? RIP EFC. Thanks Bill, Thanks Mosh. Thanks Konman, Roberto, and the rest.

So let us all take it out now on Sean and Kev keeping an ageing squad up on buttons.

A derby win would maybe buy some time for TFG to get their executive structure in place, decide on a DoF then begin to work on the manager situation, which is ideally the order you’d want to do things to get the right people making the right decision.

But it’s all just a matter of time regardless.

Yes I understand that, but that wasn't the point. Nobody is saying Guardiola or Arteta or Maresca are doing a bad job because they have a philosophy, because that philosophy is working. All managers have a style of play, and Dyche's is crap, that isn't the argument. The argument is that the managers mentioned are prioritising that style over gaining points. It's not a criticism levelled at Dyche and Allardyce because that's effectively the opposite of what they do (in theory, as I said).
