2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Because relatively you don’t strengthen if everyone else strengthens around you/strengthen more?

How backward is that? ‘We’re better than we were last year so why aren’t we doing better?!’

Well yeah, maybe arguably we’re slightly stronger? (Debatable)

The leagues improved far more than we have, across the board.
Disagree the league is weaker this season with the drop off in everyone bar Liverpool.... look at Southampton, 5 points and 60% of them were against us!

Elanga and Williams are 22 and 23 respectively, I don't think we know what their levels are. Wood is miles better than any striker we have. He regularly scored 10 goals per season in a Dyche squad.

I'm not making excuses, he sucks and needs to go. Forest are punching above their weight, there's no way they're the 2nd best club in the PL. But their squad is, at this point, much better than ours and not dragged down by anchors like Tarkowski, Doucoure, Mykolenko, the ghost of whichever RB we play.

Why do you keep bringing the comparison with our squad? The talking point was a squad of players that improved simply by playing under a different manager. Forest are the best example of that I can think of. Their squad is basically the same one that Cooper had. They changed their manager and all them instantly improved, as if by magic.

Is Forest’s squad better than Spurs or United’s would you say?

So what? You said they were great players, they’re not great players. They are players that have been at Forest for years and have simply gone up a level under a different manager. I’m not sure how you’ve managed to twist that into me saying I don’t rate them like. It’s got absolutely nothing to do with our squad either, it’s an example of some players that have improved by playing under a better coach, don’t understand why that’s so difficult for you to grasp or seemingly so hilarious that you have to respond with laughing emojis.
Aina is linked with city today.

Elanga came from Utd for big money, Williams used to get games at the RS. They’re all young on the whole too, still improving.

You’ve left off some of their most talented lads too, by chance?

Who? Name them, I bet they were there under Steve Cooper performing terribly.

We have a crap manager, with a crap squad of players. Open your eyes to them as individuals, it’s horrific ffs.
So lets get a better Manager and get him some reinforcements in January (within ffp) and lets have a more positive and enjoyable 2nd half of the season. Give Goodison the send off it deserves.

The only thing coming without change is never ending frustration and another relegation battle.

Think majority of the players that played for forest against us yesterday was already there last season. So you are right, they were pathetic last season, new manager came in and they improved.

What? The league is clearly stronger and that’s why the bigger teams are struggling to flat track bully 60% of the league.

Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham, now Forest, before you even get into Spurs, Villa, Newcastle. Some very hard games and I’ve not touched the top teams.

Do you know what relativity is mate?

So by this logic if each team signed 10 nailed on superstars each year it wouldn’t matter as we got 48 points last season?
Is that not how you measure a clubs progression? Or do we need to analyse every club before assessing if a club has progressed across 5, 7 or 10 years?

Have Liverpool got stronger than last season despite not signing anyone of note? No the competition has got worse, Man City have dropped off, Villa, Spurs and Man Utd have all dropped off and Everton have dropped off from last season despite the competition getting worse, every metric shows what an incapable manager we have.

Just checked and Ola Aina who’s linked with City, is 28 and played for the relegated Fulham team of 2020/21. If he was in our squad under this manager he’d look like Mykolenko and everyone would be saying he’s always been crap and no manager could ever get a tune out of him.

Dychettes, you’ve run out of road. The game is up.

We all know the squad needs improved. But the manager is also very poor. He is not getting anywhere near the best from this group of players (as shown by what he got from them last season), however poor they may or may not be.

Another coach could get more out of them. While we also need a few signings. Both things can be true. The big issue is, you only have small windows to change players, whereas you can change manager whenever, meaning a manager that could get more out of these same players could be brought in now.

Managers are judged on results. His results are on the whole, poor. We have gone backwards and we look inept all over the pitch, yesterday including the defence which is what he is renowned for.

The whole setup needs changed which has finally started at the board. But the next step is get in a manager who knows how to win games and actually has some tactics.

No Liverpool strengthened well with legs where they needed them last season. Now with the league being far more competitive some of the older sides are struggling (city lack of legs is blatant).

The quality of the league is arguably as high as it’s ever been - comparatively.

The top teams aren’t as good but your mid table fodder a la Bournemouth can sign Porto’s number 9. Doesn’t that seem mental?!

I saw about 42 - 45 points as a realistic, achievable and fair target for the team this season.

The manager is not on course to achieve that and we are right in a relegation battle again. Now that the ownership issue is resolved, I see no strong argument against making a change.
One argument is that by getting in a new manager, regardless of who, Everton's chances of being relegated increases by a lot.

Even those who are brave and are getting in good managers that is a good fit, often see the club going through a tough spell without getting results. Look at Bournemouth. Iraola was a coup. People that follow football were surprised Bournemouth could attract him. He got money to spend. He got a full preseason. He came into a well run club with a brilliant director of football. He started with 0 wins in 9.

Look at Lopetegui at West Ham. Previous Spain and Real Madrid manager. Knew the league through his successful spell at Wolves. The type of manager Everton currently wold struggle to attract. West Ham spent silly money last summer. People saying they won the transfer window. Results have been awful. Their football is no better than it was under Moyes.

To think that an Everton team, with one of the worst squads in the league, should be OK and play god football by replacing Dyche is beyond stupid. This Everton squad is a lot worse than the one we had when Dyche was hired. Dyche should be blamed for that, but that is not a good reason to replace him now. It would make much more sense to replace him 18 months ago or last summer than now.

People have unrealistic expectations to this team. Back to back summers the fans have pushed away and applauded sales of the teams best midfielder. None of our current midfielders would make Forest's matchday squad. They were happy to see our best one (Mangala) go 10 months ago.

Ancelotti and Lampard knew that you'd never want Doucoure on the ball in your own half. That he was a liability. While Everton fans in forums and social media kept talking about playing him as a 6 or an 8, not as a 10. When Dyche is forced, due to lack of options, to play Doucoure deeper and Doucoure does what he has done his entire career, the same fans blame Dyche for Doucoure's mistakes.

Funny, isn't it. That those who were happy to see the back of Iwobi and Onana, were the same people that wanted Everton to sign Kalvin Phillips last summer. People with big mouths and strong opinions that might be proper fans, but that don't watch football, don't like football and don't understand football.
