2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Of course it can. i've literally said that! Nuno is better than Dyche, and better than Steve Cooper, nobody is disagreeing with that. As I said, they went from 3 wins in 17 under Cooper to 4 wins in 17 under Nuno so there was an improvement with the exact same squad but not a huge one. They've added good quality to that and are now doing miles better. We need to do the same thing. For the 7000th time, I am not here to defend Sean Dyche and say he's a great manager, I'm just saying that I think any manager would have similar issues with the crap squad they have. I don't see easy solutions here like you sometimes can with a struggling team, I think we're genuinely bad. Hopefully Dyche goes soon because I'm fed up of it, but it needs to be allied to an injection of quality to the team otherwise we will just regress to the mean very quickly.
I think it’s clear that there will be better players coming in to the squad in the summer. A massive revamp has to happen with the amount of players out of contract anyway.

The stars have aligned nicely for TFG with dyche being out of contract in the summer, substandard players the same and the exciting opportunities new stadium will bring. There is next to zero chance he will be here next season imo.

The only job dyche has left is to keep us up this year - there will be better managerial options in the summer I imagine - ones that will suit spending money a bit better than dyche and it means TFG don’t have to rush into decisions they don’t want to make early.

Obviously the proviso to all of this is that we actually win a couple of games and keep the bottom 3 at arms length. The stats of 2024 don’t fill me with confidence that dyche can actually do that…

RVN he is having a go and I watched them v City and they missed some very presentable chances, hit the post and could have had a pen, City could have had no complaints if Lecicester had got something... But it is still City...

The league rewards teams that play to win and if they get on a run, which I think they will sooner or later, we will be in deep trouble.

Anorim has a tough job there and clearly there is massive internal issues around the playing staff and their administrators, INEOS seem to have upset the apple cart but they will come good at one point, I`m not saying there isn`t an exception to the rule but in the main teams improve under a new manager. Sometimes it is just a fresh voice and fresh ideas.

We do have talent in the squad but it is being held back, how can you show case talent, or you see talent, when all they are asked to do is spend all the time defending their own 18 yard box, not getting forward and definitely not having possession of the football. When we get a new manager and these players can flourish we will see their true talent because hoofball does nothing to highlight anything apart from a managers ineptness and lack of ability.
RVN is a disastrous appointment. He fluked a win whilst conceding about 40 shots and he’s quickly finding out why ‘having a go’ doesn’t work when your players are crap.

It statistically doesn’t down the bottom though, Luton and Burnley last year attest to that.

Ipswich this season so far.

Teams who concede as few as we do rarely go down, that’s a fact. It’s not pretty though.

Big excuses for Amorim when they should have bounced purely by changing manager shouldn’t they?

What is this talent you speak of that’s being held back, please do spell this one out to me.

I’d love to rate some of these, they’re Everton players. But they’re just crap mate, the sooner the summer comes round and half of them are gone and Dyche with them then the better.

I try not to put too much credence in what a manager says to the press, but that was just dumb.
I think realistically he has lost the players and the dressing room, they aren`t playing for him, they don`t want this crap football and losers mentality any longer.

We are at the same place as fans, as a player I wouldn`t want to play in a Dyche team when I can see the quality we have in the squad and they probably play better in training.

But the players didn't magically improve overnight like people are suggesting (or literally writing in some cases) did they? Cooper had 3 wins from 17 games, Nuno got 4 wins from his first 17.They are now a very different squad and are much better for it. They've recruited well, and also have a better manager than us. Making out like the only thing that's changed at Forest is the manager is another weak argument to try to ram home a point that everybody already gets.
A manager who our fans were turning their nose up at by the way.

By the crap if you are talking about are Tarkowski, Mykolenko, Doucoure and Harrison then I`m in agreement.

Unfortunately your man keeps picking them game in and game out!

Explain why with more or less the same group of players Forest finished 17th last season then?
They underperformed clearly. Just as we overperformed. They’ve got a better coach and their decent squad now looks functional - just like Villa.

That doesn’t equate to our situation. We’ve got a desperate rag tag squad of kids, old men, loans and out of favours. There is not a lot of talent to unlock.

He hasn't lost the dressing room, they have played as a unit the past four matches very well.

It doesn't speak well of him that he tried to change the tactics and the players didn't take. Of course the players have some ownership of it, but it speaks more poorly of him than them.

This is the point the Dyche critics are trying to make - if I had a crystal ball and could see we would be safe at the end of the season I’d be less inclined to be noisy.

At the start of the season I was grateful for the job he’d don to that point (still am) but was on the fence as to whether he could improve beyond that, I’d hoped for a little progression of possible in terms of points or style of play - at the very least stability, we’ve seen none of that this year.

So I’ve gone from in the fence to he’s not good enough but only in the basis of the last 19 games because of what I’ve seen with my own eyes. Generally the same players who got 48 points last season. Then people say he can’t get any more out of these players yet the league has shown time and time again managers do get more out of under performing squads, short term it’s called new manager bounce but some is sustainable.

I get the players are poor, but I don’t believe we should only be 3 points clear of the relegation places which includes all of the promoted teams who came up with more inferior squads. There should be more daylight than that even if we maintained the league position.

You are missing the point though. We spent circa £50m in summer. Yeah, it’s not a huge amount, but 3 of the players you are raving about at Forest cost about £30m all in. Dyche has a say in recruitment.

There are players available that he could have pointed out to thelwell. They wouldn’t walk into our team though, because he wouldn’t play them as they have no Pl ExPeRiEnCe.
???

It’s not his remit to sign the players though, yes I’m sure he has some kind of say on the finalisation but it’s not his job to identify talent. That’s a stretch bashing him for that.

I don’t blame thelwell either. To say we ‘spent’ 50m, I don’t know how much actually left our coffers immediately. I bet it wasn’t much. It’s really not easy to deal with many clubs on that basis. Why do you think two were from Lyon and that madman Textor?

Rumours are we may need to sell this month to meet PSR, Armstrong being watched by city and arsenal.

I think what @SuperKev91 is trying to point out is...

Forget Nuno going in mid season and changing Forests fortunes

Forget Emery going in mid season and changing Villas fortunes

Forget Parreira taking over Wolves and instantly getting them winning

Forget any manager taking over any club anywhere in the world

None of this applies to Everton.... Just Everton that is different to any other club in the world and no manager can get more from these players than Dyche, which if that is the case Dyche must be, by your own admission, the best manager in the world.....

Is that accurate SuperKev?
And with our own direct experience, albeit some time ago, forget Joe Royle coming in and changing our fortunes when he took over from Mike Walker.

Gimme alternatives 🤣🤣🤣.

Tarkowski - Keane/O’Brien
Mykolenko - 40 year old former lw now rb
Doucoure - we literally have only got Armstrong who’s a cm fit
Harrison - have you watched Lindstrom yet? He’s great…

Mate I can’t wait for Dyche to go either, but do you actually like this squad of players? Wtf is going on I feel like I’m mental 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
